   {Fuinjutsu}

Katsuo swept his hand gently across the surface of the old scroll that laid unrolled on the desk before him, wiping away unknown years of accumulated dust which would otherwise hinder his ability to read its contents. Even with his vision he would need every bit of help he could get to decipher the symbols inscribed on this parchment. The scroll was old, so much so that the parchment its secrets lived on was itself almost dying at the slightest touch. The room was dark, just a small candle illuminating a small area on the surface below, visibility wavering as the shadows danced along with the flickering flame. The dim setting was inconvenient, but necessary to prevent arousing suspicion and alerting others to his presence. The last thing he needed was to be found rummaging through his clan’s archives.

Ever since he was a child he was told to stay clear of this old wing of the Senju compound for one reason or another. When he was a small child the warnings ranged from hauntings to monsters and as he grew older it simply became an order. Childhood curiosity however, would blossom into adulthood suspicion, prompting Katsuo to take it upon himself to conduct his own investigation. Who could fault his suspicion? This area was supposed to be an archive, and if that was all it was there was no reason for it to be protected and labeled off limits even to Katsuo. Already more than suspicious of the intentions of his father and grandfather Katsuo intended to uncover whatever it was that they wanted to keep even him from seeing. As such, he snuck into the archive wing of the Senju compound under the cover of the night, using his master key made for all heirs of the main family to undo the nearly unbreakable lock that sealed the massive wooden doors shut for as long as Katsuo could remember.

The scroll that Katsuo found himself examining was left on top of a desk in the center of the room, noteworthy for being the only document that wasn’t neatly stored away in the shelves. It was curious to find a document in this condition not only because of how blatantly it stuck out being the only such scroll to be left out, but also because the thick layer of dust that blanketed the document when he found it also told him that it had not been touched in quite a long time. It had even been left partially opened, signaling that whoever it was that had been reading the scroll for one reason or another did not have the time to put it back where they found it, a curious thought considering who the only people who had access to this room were. It was highly unlike either Katsuo’s father or grandfather to leave something unattended to like this after use. The fact that one of them would even come to this section of the compound to use this scroll specifically however, denoted some modicum of importance of the document.

Much to Katsuo’s dismay however, his attempts at uncovering the scroll’s secrets for himself would prove to be completely unsuccessful. The characters inked upon the parchment were not those of any language he had ever encountered, in fact they hardly seemed like letterform at all. There were short segments of symbols that seemed to have some kind of commonality that could resemble a language, but then others just seemed to be completely out of place. The abstract shapes that the brushstrokes made were more akin to some kind of obscure fuiinjutsu script than an alphabet. “Wait… is that it?” he would ponder to himself as he examined the document more closely, “Could these be fuuinjutsu seals of some kind?”

Katsuo had been spending more and more time studying the sealing arts in recent months, valuing the utility they offered in the shinobi world and seeking to master them for himself. It is for that reason that he was able to recognize a seal when he saw one, even one that used completely unique and unorthodox symbols such as these. The symbols used for these sealing formulas was completely foreign to him however, nothing like the standard fuuinjutsu seals taught in the Academy or in the literature on the subject he had picked up for his own personal study. Their inability to be recognized, the age of the document, and the fact that they were in these archives pointed strongly towards these particular sealing formulas to be very old. Old enough for them to not share any discernable translations with their modern counterparts, in fact.

Thinking back on it, the layer of dust that he had cleaned off of the document upon finding did not compare to the dust that coated the rest of the old room nor did it do the age of the document justice. Looking at it more carefully he would estimate that the time between this scroll’s last use and Katsuo finding it was no more than a few months, meaning it was being looked at recently. For what reason? That still needed to be uncovered. Whatever it was, if it so compelled one or both of them to come into the archives and actively search for it, there was a good chance that it would be worth finding out exactly what it was.

That task would have been much simpler however, if he was capable of reading the damned things at all. Not having ever seen fuuinjutsu symbols like this it wasn’t even like he could take it to an expert to have it deciphered, not that he had any intention of doing so. When dealing with those two it was impossible to tell who they have working in their employ. There wasn’t even anyone he could trust in the village to sneak this scroll off to. He would have to work on it himself.

he first thing that came to mind as far as deciphering the symbols on the scroll was to seek out the section of the library that the scroll was taken from. Even without being able to read it totally, something about these symbols seemed… incomplete. If his suspicion was right, then this scroll was likely to be part of a set and hopefully being able to see the rest of them would give him a better indication of what purpose they served. With any luck there might even be a symbol key to give him actual translations of the symbols. If someone had gone through the trouble of picking out this document specifically there had to be some way to decipher it. He could only hope that it hadn’t been taken with them.

And so he would begin his search, first rolling back up the scroll on the table, taking special care not to damage the delicate parchment, and making his way into the veritable maze of shelves which housed countless numbers of scrolls and texts. The space was absolutely enormous, much larger than he had ever imagined. Rather than being separated by floors like the rest of the compound, the archive’s roof’s ceilings were visible from the ground floor, almost disappearing into an almost endless blackness as Katsuo looked up in the darkened, cavernous space. It was only after shaking himself free of the awe he felt from the grandeur of the library he found himself in that the realization of him having no idea where to begin his search began to set in. He had no idea how documents were sorted in these archives and even if he did it was not like he was able to read the scroll to know what he was actually looking for. At this point he might simply have to spend as long as he needed to just walking through and perusing the shelves and searching for an empty spot that the document could fill.

The real problem was where he would start searching in this place. There looked to be no clear path for one to follow, only rows of shelves and winding stairs that led up to the next floor of the archives. Just by appearances alone the room was beautiful, designed like the type of library that dwelled in the pages of storybooks and it retained that air of majesty even through the shadows that blanketed the space. As innocent and peaceful as it seemed however, Katsuo knew that the walls and sealed doors were not meant to lock up this place because it was harmless. If there was one thing that his clan valued above all else historically, it was power, and they went to great lengths to consolidate as much of it as they could throughout the years. There was no doubt in Katsuo’s mind that this room housed great and terrible power.

That is why it was off limits, even to him. Katsuo had never even seen his father or grandfather actually go in the archives before. The deceptive beauty of the room was simply a mask for what dwelled within. Even the act of looking to decipher the symbols he had found in the fuuinjutsu scroll was a dangerous endeavor in itself. The techniques and knowledge locked away in this room were those that the Senju clan deemed too dangerous, one way or another, for public knowledge. The ones that they had not adopted for themselves, were sealed away in this room at the very heart of the Senju compound, far out of reach of even members of the clan, let alone outsiders, so that they may never be used against the clan.

His knowledge of this fact made Katsuo feel uneasy about delving too deep into the mysterious scroll he had found on the table, but he had to know. If someone else had been looking into it before him he needed to know why. And so he began his search for something, anything that would help him decode the puzzle that was the scroll he held carefully in his right hand.

His eyes would dart back and forth, squinted low as he did his best to focus his eyesight to inspect the darkened room, the only available light source being the pale moonlight peering through the large glass window on the furthest wall. His search on the first floor would prove fruitless, as neither an abandoned spot on the shelves, nor any visible similarities could be drawn from the literature in that area. There were several books that had caught his attention, but once again, it was unwise to meddle too much with the documents in this room. It was bad enough that he was hunting down what he believed was likely some manner of forbidden or at least lost fuuinjutsu seal. More prominent than alluring titles or appearances however, were books that had absolutely no standout features. No titles on the covers or spines, not fancy embroidery, nothing, just old nameless books. He was most wary of those in particular.

“It looks like I’m not going to get any easy breaks after all,” he lamented to himself as he let out a light sigh in annoyance, “Of course it wasn’t going to just be on the first floor where it would be most convenient.” His gaze would shift to the spiraling staircase just off to the wall on his right before letting out another sigh, “This better be worth my time.”Katsuo would make his way up the spiraling steps and onto the next floor, making sure to keep his hands off of the railings as to not soil his hands with the caked on dust and dirt that sat upon the iron trimmings. He couldn’t help but wonder if the secrets in the tomes this room housed were really so dangerous that it wasn’t even an option to have the archives cleaned. As well maintain as the rest of the entire compound was, the dark and dusty chamber almost seemed like an entirely different world.

{Bukijutsu}

 Today was a day of anxiety for Katsuo. He was going to take on one of the biggest challenges of his life. He woke up to a gleaming light that pierced the window like a dagger. After rubbing his eyes with his index fingers, he lifted himself to a sitting position on the side of his bed. He had just woken up and was already slightly nervous about today. He stretched his arms behind his head before standing up slowly and walking to his closet once again. He didn't need to look nice today, so he just grabbed his regular attire composed of white and blue. He immediately started putting on his clothes at a slow pace. He then walked over and grabbed his shinobi sandals, putting them on. He walked over to the left side of the room,, grabbing his equipment for the day. First his Kunai pouch which was standard with every ninja. His second item was not as common though.

He then picked up a metal bo-staff and held in in both hands, looking it over and getting a feel for the wait. The Staff of Hurricanes, or so it was called, was a gift from his father that he was presented. While he had never thought about using a staff in combat before, he would not waste a perfectly good ninja tool based on nerves. Katsuo switched it over to his right hand and looked around his room again before walking through the door. He turned to his right sharply and started descending down the stairs. He finally made it to ground level and walked around a corner before seeing his grandpa in the kitchen. He smiled and spoke with love. "I'm heading out to train! Love you!." He said smiling before turning to the door and opening it. "Love you too!." Was all he heard before exiting through the threshold an into the yard of his house. He immediately walked over to the street, only to be met by his brother, . "How are you this morning?" The gigantic lion asked with a smile and a soft tone. "Great! Ready to train?" Katsuo asked jumping on the majestic creatures back. Brother didn't have to answer that question, as Katsuo already knew the answer.

The grey and black colored lion's paws hit the ground softly as they made their way to the Swamp of Sorrows. Katsuo had been training there since he was a young lad, so this felt only right to do. There would be plenty of things to try his Bojutsu on, including who he was riding on. They had talked about it earlier that week. His final test of this training would be a fight with Brother in close quarters. Katsuo's thought process was interrupted by the lining of the swamp becoming visible. It was about to be time to take the next step in his ninja training by learning what close quarters combat is like. The duo entered the Swamp with a casual stride, knowing the place much to long to be caught in the traps of the swamp. Katsuo's usual spot was only a few meters in, so it didn't take long to arrive at the small clearing. The area was scarred from the countless training sessions before, showing Katsuo's dedication as a ninja. It was time to begin.

Katsuo sighed as he slid off of Brother's back, holding his staff with a tight grip as he landed on the ground. He walked over to the middle of the opening, glancing at the sky as he got in a prepared stance. The sun reflected off the metal brilliantly, despite the mist that tried to interfere. Katsuo took a few deep breathes, calming himself before he started his training. He looked focused and ready to become a better shinobi. His legs were spread at shoulders length, but the distance was vertical as his right foot was in front of the rest of his body. The staff was positioned behind his back, held by his right hand. It was time to start the first portion of a long training session. Suddenly, Katsuo moved at blinding speeds, bringing the staff around his body horizontally as he swung it in front of him from right to left. He followed the staff's momentum with his own body, lifting off the ground and kicking in front of him while twisting. He landed gracefully and stood up. He moved the bo-staff in a slanted motion this time, using one side of it to strike. He didn't stop though, as he followed it up with another slanted strike using the other side of the weapon.

While this was going on, Brother sat back quietly, smiling at how good Katsuo was at this particular fighting style. It made him able to fight a distance while still being able to defend himself in close quarters. Katsuo did not rest and slammed his staff on the ground vertically, vaulting over it and coming down with an axe kick. He landed in a crouched position with the staff in his left hand. He continued the kata with bringing the staff up and spinning it over his head horizontally. He stood and loosened his grip on the staff, bringing it forward through his hand. He stopped it before it escaped his grasp, emulating a stab with a sword. His body was extended forward, showing the full reach of the weapon he held. He then planted his left foot and twisted, crouching down as he did so while bring the staff around him for a leg sweep. Lastly, he stood up and bowed before wiping his brow with his hand. The smell of perspiration filled the air as he breathed heavily. He turned to look at Brother with an expression of pride as he proved to himself that he was ready for such a weapon. Brother only nodded to the young shinobi.

Katsuo walked over to the Lion with a sigh as he reached for a bottle of water in his backpack beside Brother. "How did I do?" He asked with a smile before taking a big gulp of water. "It went really well. Your creativity has improved and your quite fluent with it now." The fur covered mammal said as he looked to the boy with earnest eyes. "I don't think you have much trouble with someone like me." He said chuckling as he tried to lighten the mood of the upcoming spar between the two of them. Katsuo just shook his head as he continued to guzzle the water from the bottle. His mind started to think of the time that Brother and he met. It was a time of desperation for Katsuo, and a time of heroics for Brother. He could remember like yesterday how he was surrounded by what he assumed to be rouge ninja looking to send a message to Kirigakure. He would have surely died if Brother had not stepped in and killed the majority of them within a few minutes. His power was incredible and that was for sure. Brother had saved his butt on many occasions and now Katsuo had to spar with him. It was something he just wasn't comfortable with.

"It will be fine." Brother said immediately ready Katsuo's face. "We both are powerful and skilled enough to test each other without their being any injuries." Katsuo nodded to him in agreement. He just didn't want to end up hurting someone who he owed his life to. He shook the thought out of his head and finished the water in the bottle. Despite some of the sun being blocked out by the mist, it was still kind of hot. Most likely, it was because of Kirigakure's high humidity, but that was normal. Maybe Katsuo just wasn't used to doing this much moving while carrying something that heavy. His new weapon definitely wasn't light by any means. He crushed the water bottle and threw it back in his bag before turning back to Brother with a serious look. It was time to start the spar. Brother nodded as they turned and walked to the middle of the opening. Once there, the stepped back until their was ten meters in between them. Their eyes locked one more time to give each other confidence before they started. This was going to be interesting.

In a split second, Brother crossed the gap and raised his mighty paw to swing down at Katsuo from the right side. Katsuo properly responded with blocking the swing with his staff, though he almost couldn't handle Brother's strength. Katsuo decided to go on the offense immediately and twisted the staff around his body, swinging it horizontally at the large beast with great speed. Brother raised his left paw to meet it, blocking it for the most part. A little sting ran through the area of contact, but the lion payed it no attention as he moved his right limb high in the air and brought it down at an alarming speed. Katsuo instinctively jumped back to dodge it. Retreating was far from his plan though as he planted one end of his staff into the ground, using it's strength to vault himself in the air. Once he reached the peak of the jump, he formed an axe kick and brought it down hard towards Brother. The lion used his unique speed to swat the leg enough to send Katsuo off balance. Katsuo tumbled to the ground with a thud, breathing heavy as he did so.

"You ok?!" Brother asked with a concerned voice as he nudged the staff over too him with his nose. "Yea, let's continue!" Katsuo said ignoring the slight pain in his hip as he quickly got back on his feet to continue the spar. He took an odd step towards his staff, doing a one handed cartwheel and grabbing the weapon at the same time. He landed with precision and spiraled his body downwards, swing the staff outwards while doing so. He attack was aimed to hit the lion's feet and cause an opening for a follow up. The gymnastics were just a distraction. Brother tried to dodge the attack with all four feet, but couldn't get off the ground in time to save his back left leg. The staff crashed into it, making Brother wobble a bit. Katsuo took no time to hesitate as he brought the staff vertically up his body, aiming to hit the under side of the lion's shoulder with it. Brother's focus came back just in time to dart to the left and dodge the attack completely. He landed with grace as he looked at Katsuo with pride. He was doing a great job thus far. Katsuo smiled a bit as he realized how good he had done thus far, but he couldn't focus on that for long, as he had to keep the pace up to simulate a real combat experience. A real enemy would not give him such a break.

Brother thought the same thing as he lunged forward at Katsuo, bringing his claws down diagonally in an attempt to catch Katsuo off guard. Katsuo responded with haste as he brought his staff over his head and met the paw in the air. The strength of Brother made the staff wobble in Katsuo's hand, while Brother's paw was starting to throb. Katsuo took no time in continuing his plan as he brought the staff down horizontally and held it with both hands. He swung the right side of it at Brother, letting the momentum carry it around his body and then attacked with the left side in a similar manner. Brother cracked a smirk as he pushed off his front limbs and stood on his back legs to dodge the attack while hoping to use his height as a distraction or scare tactic. Katsuo grabbed the staff on both sides, sliding back into a defensive stance in response. Brother's plan had worked, or so he thought. Brother's claws came down with a mass of momentum behind them as he swung at Katsuo with one paw after the other. Katsuo immediately responded with spinning the staff in his hands in front of him, hitting both paws before the could come into contact with him. Brother grimaced at the sharp pain that ran up his front limbs, making him leap back to give himself some time to rest for a second.

Katsuo knew that he had the brother on the ropes, hoping to finish the spar with one more move. He stopped spinning the staff and slid his grasp to the bottom of the weapon. He then lunged at the beast with the staff raised behind his head. He came down with it, using the momentum and weight of the weapon to his advantage as he attempted to connect with Brother's back. The intelligent animal realized where the attack was aimed and responded by standing on his hind legs once again. His front paws moved above his head as he sandwiched the staff in between his hands, stopping it completely. Katsuo's eye became bigger as he could no longer move his staff by his own strength. Brother only smiled at the boy before he started to speak. "I think the point has been proven. You are ready to use this in real combat." He said with a sense of pride that sounded much like that of a father's voice, or so Katsuo thought. The young jounin's teeth beamed as his smiled big and relaxed his body. The lion let go of the staff and returned to all four paws. They both walked over to the bag that Katsuo brought along. Katsuo opened the bag and started to search through it before sighing. "I knew it would have been smarter to pack multiple bottles of water!" He exclaimed as he let the bag fall from his hands to the ground with a thud.

"You have the ability to create water." Brother said chuckling as his tired friend was obviously not thinking clearly after such a hard work out. Katsuo scratched the back of his head and laughed as he realized that his friend was correct. He lifted his head to the sky and opened his mouth, letting out a stream of water that wasn't very powerful. The water flew into the air a few meters before falling back down on the young shinobi's head, cooling him off in the process. While it wasn't what the jutsu was intended for, it certainly got the job done.

Katsuo shook his head gently to get some of the water out of his hair, and turned to his brother. "Well I consider today a success! Don't you?" He asked with high spirits. Considering what he accomplished today, he was justified in his happiness. Brother smiled and nodded at his friend with approval. "You have done an outstanding job." He said kindly as he shook his paw to try and ease the pain. "Sorry about that. Here, let me help." He said walking over to Brother holding his hands out. Brother laid on the ground and flipped both of his paws over for Katsuo to do some minor healing. Katsuo's hands and the area around them started to glow green, signifying that the Zenchi Te no Jutsu was in use. It would take just a few seconds to heal up the minute injuries that were present, making it a task that didn't take much chakra or attention. Katsuo finished on Brother and moved his hands over to his side. He was sure that he bruised himself when he fell on it, so healing it would be smart. After a few minutes of focusing on the jutsu, it was healed and Katsuo deactivated the technique.

"Better?" Katsuo asked as he walked over to pick up the backpack he brought with him before throwing it over his shoulders. " Much Better!" Brother said thankfully as he stood back up and walked over to Katsuo. He looked around one more time before grabbing his staff off of the ground and planting it into the dirt. He used this familiar move to vault himself onto Brother's back with ease, setting the bo-staff in his lap when he landed. His weight wasn't much, so the fancy way in which he climbed on him had no effect on the lion. Brother turned to exit the Swamp and darted forward with incredible speeds. He jumped a few times to dodge small marshes before exiting the swamp with a sigh. They enjoyed the training sessions, but it was always nice to know that you had finished one and accomplished something. Exiting the swamp always reminded him of how nice that was. Brother continued towards the village at a slower pace, seemingly walking now.

The trip back to the Residential District was not a long one and it wasn't particularly beautiful either. Katsuo took that time to think on what Solstice had told him before the spar they had recently. He knew that he lacked strength back then and he couldn't always rely on Brother for offense. He had to advantage of the skills that he was learning so that next time they sparred, he would be the superior by far. With Solstice's recent promotion to Kage and Yuudai's promotion to Clan Head, that spar seemed a long ways away though. Regardless of how unlikely the event was, Katsuo was still going to be prepared regardless. Katsuo was shaken out of his deep thought by the sound of Brother speaking "What are you thinking about? You've been silent for ten minutes." He asked with curiosity as he looked over his shoulder at Katsuo. "Just thinking about the future." He said with a smile as he met the beast's gaze with a look of assurance. He didn't want Brother to have to constantly worry about it. He shouldn't have to and he won't if Katsuo had anything to do with it. Within a few moments, they were back at Katsuo's house and it was time for a rest for the both of them.

{Ninjutsu}

Day One

Katsuo fiddled with the binding on his headband, tightening it's grasp on his neck.  It seemed like it had been a century since he first joined the academy, a scared child who wanted the power to grasp the world in his hands and protect what he loved. ”Your form is weak! You lack discipline!” Grandpa bellowed out, a clear undertone of frustration. ”AGAIN!” Grandpa formed the boar seal, and six small stone balls shot out of the ground at his feet, flying into the air. Katsuo raised his hands, quickly performing a string of hand seals. Dog, Boar, Bird. The rock at Katsuo's feet shot up in six solid shafts of stone, rocketing for the stone balls, which were now beginning to fall. The sound crack of stone piercing stone rang out as three of the spears pierced the balls, while the rest shattered against the ground. Katsuo swore silently under his breath. They had been doing this for hours now, and while he had improved to a degree, his form and control over his ninjutsu was still incredibly sloppy. ”Pathetic... We're done.” His sensei said with a sigh. Grandpa's disappointment was clear. Katsuo could weave seals with ease, yet his ninjutsu control was sloppy at best, he lacked the pinpoint accuracy he needed to maser the more advanced techniques.

The moon was hung high in the air over the Senju Training grounds. Katsuo sat there in frustration. No amount of penetrating rocks or apples with spears would make him any more accurate, this was an issue of his control rather than of his accuracy. Until he improved his ability to manipulate and convert chakra, he would never get anywhere. Spread out before him, Katsuo had a several of, well, training materials, shall we say. A phone book and a stack of parchment paper. Taking up a strip of parchment paper, Katsuo pressed it between the palms of his hands. Katsuo focused intently, the charkra channels in his fingers pulsing with energy as he focused his chakra into an infinitely fine edge. Katsuo could always perform wind based techniques, but his execution was sloppy at best. During his genin days, he would practice cutting leaves in half, but he could never get a perfect split, only jagged tears through the centre, an imperfect cut unworthy of the power of wind. The paper let out a loud splitting noise, as a jagged zig-zag pattern tore it's way through the side of the paper, stopping halfway. A slight pink tint seeped through the paper he was grasping. Tossing it aide, he saw the wind he was channelling had overshot slightly, carving a slight imprint of a zig-zag pattern into the surface of his hand. Katsuo grasped a new piece of parchment, pinning it between his hands. The rip of paper sounded once more, and the paper he was holding split in two, a large zig-zag gash through the narrow end. Katsuo jumped a bit as he cut deeper into his hand. Leaves were simple targets, tiny, required a small amount of fine wind to cut, whereas the paper required a larger wave, it was harder to keep it focused. Katsuo wiped the blood from his hand, putting pressure on the wound as he gathered his things. Tomorrow would be a better day. It had to be.

Day Two

Katsuo sat in the sand, dumping his flak-jacket at his side. The sun had just risen and it was a fantastic day for training. Drawing the stack of paper from the sack at his feet, he peeled off a single sheet of parchment from the stack. The gash on his hand from the previous night had already begun to heal over. The issue was clear, he had overreached. Trying to do it in one swing was excessive and stupid. He would have to start small, light cuts in the paper to get the depth right, then increase the length. Placing his hands over the surface of the paper, he focused, sending small bursts of fine air chakra from the tips of his fingers. The paper curled in his hand, crinkling. The wind had been too weak, instead of slicing, it simply deformed the surface of the paper. Again, a new parchment was selected. The sound of paper being separated rung out, a familiar tune. A small gash, spanning only a few inches carved it's way through the paper. It was straight, and unlike the others it didn't leave his palms bleeding. Progress was progress, he figured. His following attempts were consistent, increasing in length compared to the previous cut by roughly an inch or two per cut, until eventually the page tore in two.

Mid-day, it was time for lunch. Katsuo was worn out from his morning training. Reaching into his ruck sack, he produced a small rectangle packet, covered in silver plastic. Tearing through the top of the packet, he revealed a sort of paste, with chunks of meat in it. Rations. They weren't appealing, but they were effective. Tossing aside the now empty container of rations, Katsuo turned his focus back to his training. He had split one piece of paper in half, cleaning down the centre. Now, he had to increase the thickness, by using multiple sheets at once. Taking five pieces of parchment into his hand, Katsuo grasped the stack of paper tightly, focusing his chakra into a thin blade which he quickly dragged across the surface of the paper. The blade tore through the paper, digging through the first three pages entirely and leaving a slash on the fourth. Replacing the cut pieces, Katsuo focused his chakra. Another slash. All five pieces were cut, but the line was less perfect than the others, a slight ripple in it's edge. Ten pages, eight cut, still a slight wobble in the edge. Ten pages, eight cut, straight edge. Ten pages, ten cut, straight edge. Paper had outlived it's usefulness.

The sun set in the distance, and Katsuo's work for the day was done. He had no chakra left to use, and he was starving for some good food. Stashing his equipment, he went off to town. Tomorrow would be just as fit for training, given some rest.

Day Three

Rows of skeletal straw dummies stood scattered throughout the area. Thick strands of straw compacted together formed a density similar to that of bone. Though the concept was originally used to test the quality of swords, Katsuo figured he could adapt the idea, use it as a target for his wind chakra. Approaching one of the dummies, Katsuo rested his hands on it's arm. He breathed deeply. Start with the basics, he thought. Combine physical energy and spiritual energy. Swirl them together and compress them tighter and tighter. Drain off a section of the chakra, convert it to wind energy, transfer it to the hands. Take the wind chakra and grind it together into a fine point, then release it in a burst into the arm.

The crack of straw tearing sounded, as the dummies arm blew off. Inspecting the stump, Katsuo saw the cut, while penetrating through the straw completely, was more of an explosion than a slash. He needed a fine cut, not an explosion. Refining his chakra more, he tried again with the other arm, taking his time to focus on grinding down the chakra to a fine edge, and slashing the chakra across the arm rather than just releasing it in a burst. The arm fell off, the cut was jagged and unruly, but it was a start. Katsuo made his way through every bit of the dummy he could, arms, legs, neck, torso. Every slice got a tiny bit less jagged. Hours of grinding away beyond sunset and finally, he came to the last dummy. Placing his hands on it's chest, he expelled a thin, razor sharp blade of air, slicing the dummy in half, and even taking the arms with it. A perfect, smooth cut. He had done it. A precision, powerful, well controlled burst of chakra. Turning around to celebrate, his vision went blurry and he collapsed.

Day Four

Katsuo woke up on the Senju training grounds where he had collapsed, surrounded by academy students who were there for morning lessons. A chuunin headed over, patting Katsuo on the shoulder as he slowly came to. ”Judging by the mutilated dummies everywhere, I’d say you overused your chakra mate. Be a bit careful” He said with a smile, helping him to his feet. ”Don't worry, I'm fine.” Katsuo said with a grin, grabbing his things and heading off to grab some much needed food. Katsuo slammed down his bowl of ramen, thanking the store clerk before heading off down the street. He began to make his way to Grandpa's home, but noticed something on his way there; a crate of bright, shiny red apples. Purchasing the crate, he changed direction and returned to the training grounds. Three handsome visages of Katsuo stood around the crate of apples, staring at their original. ”On your mark.” they said in unison, an apple in each hand. ”Ready!” Six crimson red spheres shot through the air, soaring up a few feet before plummeting down towards the earth. Dog, Boar, Bird. Six shafts of stone rose from the ground at Katsuo's feet, lunging towards the apples. Four apples impaled onto the spikes, while the other two shattered on impact. Katsuo repeated this process multiple times, always catching four or five every time. But it felt wrong. He needed pressure. Even if it wasn't hazardous, he needed some reason to act, not just because he disliked the taste of apples. The clones readied their apples, but instead of throwing them into the air, they threw them directly at Katsuo, catching him surprised. Acting fast, he strung together his hand seals, shooting six stone spears towards the apples, piercing them all dead centre. ”Let's up the pressure..." Six stone Katsuo's stood around the apple crate, raising twelve apples in their hands before hurling them towards the original. Twelve stone spikes shot from Katsuo's feet, apples landing on eleven spikes. Katsuo thought he had missed one, but looking up, saw that one spear had caught two apples on it's tip. He was done.

Grandpa swung his fist into the old oak door of Grandpa's house, quickly being responded to by the groan of bolts unhinging. ”What do you want?” he grunted with a scowl, he was clearly still frustrated about their last training session. As gifted a shinobi as he was, he had no patience for teaching whatsoever. Still, some of his brilliance had rubbed off on Katsuo, helping push him past his peers. ”I want another chance.” ”Another chance to prove your incompetence huh? Fine. One try. But not six, twelve. If you can't do that you're not worth my effort.” he said with a grunt, marching off to his back yard.

Grandpa slammed his hands into the ground, causing a stone platform to rise out of the grass at their feet and rise a few feet into the air. Out of this circular stage, a further two circular platforms rose a foot out of the platform, one on either end. Grandpa stood on one, and gestured Katsuo towards the other. Once the two men took their positions, Grandpa formed the boar seal. Ten small stone spheres shot out of the ground at Grandpa's feet, flying high into the air. Katsuo breathed deep, shutting his eyes. Dog, Boar, Bird. Twelve razor sharp rock spears shot out of the ground at Katsuo's feet, rocketing towards Grandpa's spheres, which were now beginning to plummet. The grating noise of stone piercing stone rang out, as the twelve stone spheres were penetrated by Katsuo's spheres, every single one dead centre onto the sphere. ”I'll be damned...” Grandpa said, placing his hands on his head and allowed a smile to break through his typically grim visage. Katsuo dropped to his knees, sighing as the exhaustion began to overtake him. He had been training non stop for the better part of a week, with less than adequate food and drink consumption. Time for a hard earned break.

{Shadow Clone + Rashomon}

It was a pretty day in Seishigakure, the sun was shining off the ocean water. There was a nice little breezing going outside, but Katsuo wouldn’t know seeing that he was still sleep. But they way that Katsuo’s room was set up was as soon as the sun rose there was immediate light straight on his face due to the window. Today he wasn’t feeling like waking up so he just roll over and threw his pillow on his face with an addition to his covers. He didn’t have any missions to do today so he didn’t see the point of waking up just yet. Although it was time to learn some new jutsu. It took Katsuo some time to get up. He roses, and just sat there. He called that the thinking time where you just stare off into spare thinking about whatever. He got up and walked over to his bathroom as he brushed his teeth and things of that sort. Taking a quick shower not doing much but washing the genitals and rinsing. He threw on some shorts and a white t shirt with his black socks and some regular old tennis shoes. He walked over and sat in this kitchen as he awaited for his mom to finish lunch, he had slept way past breakfast. He put his hands over his mouth as he did like the most the time he was thinking. What could he learn today, he knew that there were plenty of water ninjutsu for him to learn but he didn’t particularly care to learn them. Water ninjutsu was cool but he specifically wanted to see how strong ninjutsu was. As his mom put the waffles in front of him he ran through the list of jutsu he knew. There was a lot, the academy jutsu, Body flicker, Kai. He knew the hidden mist jutsu. Hidden in the water technique, one of his favorites. With a surplus of clan jutsu. But those weren’t really offensive or defensive. Those were more of support, or spying techniques. Katsuo needed something that was going to bail him out if he was low on defense of something. Maybe a summon? Katsuo would stick his fork into his waffles and began to eat slowly.’ Yeah, a summon’ he thought to himself as he began to figure out how he was going to get one of those. It was going to be hard. Nobody really like to volunteer their summons in Seishigakure. Not like Katsuo wanted one of those weak things anyway. But Katsuo knew it could be dangerous if he just formed the seals and tried to summon something. Whatever he summoned could just not like him, or try to kill him or something. Katsuo thought about it, he was strong but he wasn’t strong enough to beat a rank S summon if he just so happened to summon one. Katsuo finished it waffles as he kissed his mom goodbye and walked out of the house. He hoped in his boat and decided to make his way to the mainland to grab some scrolls from the library, excited for his first time training he would paddle at extreme speeds trying to get there as fast as he could. He hoped out the boat, upon arriving as he linked the boat up with one of the dock poles he would run past the Seishikage’s hut to the library. He walked in as he walked past all the books and straight to the scrolls, unfortunately the scrolls you had to pay for but Katsuo had done so many missions he wasn’t even sweating the price. He was just hoping he would find something interesting more than anything. He walked to the back of the library as he read over the scrolls. He saw a couple of Katon jutsu, he didn’t even know if he had the Katon affinity so he passed on those, he saw 2 or 3 Doton but he didn’t know if he had that affinity either. He supposed he had to if he had Mokuton, but nevertheless he passed on them anyway.He would walk in a little further as he saw a summoning technique, he grabbed it quickly not looking in it at all but he just kept it moving as he moved on to another section of scrolls. Katsuo reached way in the back of the shelf as he pulled out a dusty scroll labeled shadow clone. Katsuo would look at it a smile. He didn’t know what it was or how it worked but he was determined to learn it, it sounded cool to him. Plus the clones they taught in the academy were pitiful. They weren’t even able to do taijutsu. Plus Katsuo always needed a training partner so maybe he could use his clones with this ninjutsu technique. Katsuo knew these were pretty high ranked jutsu so he stopped their worried about his pockets. He would hand them to the lady as she would ring them up and take the ryo from Katsuo’s hand. Katsuo left out there as happy as he could be. He would have the scrolls in his under arm as his hands came over his mouth and his glands began to tingle. He had created a little pouch for the scrolls to go into as he slung it over his back. He ran over to the ramen shop to grab some to go ramen. He was sure after all the training he was about to do he would get hungry. The ramen didn’t cost much as he expected but it was worth the wait. Katsuo ran further past the village of Seishigakure and into a little training area he used to go to with his dad. It was around 80 meters wide and 100 meters long so there was plenty of space to train, with a little river that went straight through the middle. It was perfect for Katsuo to get training to. Katsuo would sit on the grass and rest for a bit before getting to work. He looked at the scrolls back and forth to see which one he would choose first. Both of them were intriguing to him but he decided to check out the summoning scroll first. He opened it up as he looked at it. It had one seal. Katsuo’s mouth opened up wide. He had seen the summon seals before and it wasn’t just one seal. It was way more than one. Katsuo didn’t want to give up though. He formed the seal, snake. As he took a deep breath and focused his chakra. Nothing happened. He soon realized it was a summon. Meaning it required blood. Katsuo nicked the tip of his thumb as the blood rushed down. He focused his chakra as he closed his eyes. He formed the snake seal with great ease and slammed his hands on the ground. Sealing marks appeared all around his hands, as he felt a strong rumble from the ground. His eyes open quickly as he saw a wall right in front of him. It wasn’t just any wall though. It had a faces and bells hanging off the ends on chains. Katsuo would run around to the front of it and admire it in all of its glory. Katsuo knew off the first look it was pure defense. The scroll wasn’t trash after all. Katsuo smiled as it disappeared right before his eyes. It was the ultimate defense, amazing. Katsuo would think to himself. With that defense nothing could hurt him, or so he thought. Katsuo would open up the next scroll; Shadow Clone. Man, was this exciting. It only had one seal too. Katsuo knew the basics of clones. Their chakra would be transferred into yours, there wasn’t anything to difficult except for balancing out the chakra for no one to notice but Katsuo was rather good with his chakra so he wasn’t sweating that part. He would walk over to the middle of the field near the river as he focused his chakra. His hands came up to form the clone seal as he looked over to his left. There it was a perfect version of himself. It looked just like him, the 2 even had a conversation. It sounds just like Katsuo as well. Finally Katsuo had someone to spare with that wasn’t going to bore him like all the other people he faced in the academy. The clone even had his own glands to perform Kumohasha jutsus with. Katsuo was in awe , and as soon as he wished for the Shadow Clone to disappear it did. Katsuo smiled. His ninjutsu was finally strong enough to perform jutsu’s of this strength. Imagine if he could make a thousand of these. He would be unbeatable. Katsuo walked over to his area and rolled up all his scrolls for him to put in his closet in his room as he grabbed the ramen still warm and he began to eat. His hard work paid off.

PostSubject: Re: Training Thread    Sun Dec 25, 2016 4:38 pm

It was evening. Katsuo had just woke up. He knew his sleep cycle was messed up and this was no good as it was harming himself ,however he somehow couldn't sleep during the nights. It brought back bad memories. Anyhow Katsuo woke up with this weird feeling. It was now months ago since he last trained and even longer ago since he last held a real katana. In the morning before going to sleep he had met Takumi. This little monkey that asked him to be his sensei. Katsuo then remmember how he used to respect and admire his own old sensei so he also knew he had to meet up with the younglings expectations. If there was not for his kenjutsu training the kid might have as well turned out to be more formidable foe. He then shook his head as all these thoughts where pulsing trough his head all day ,or all his sleep at the matter.

It was Katsuo's room. It was a small and compact room with one bed by the wall , a little closet by it and some loose wallpaper. Katsuo's clothes where covering floor ,bed and in fact only place they weren't at ,was the closet. A small window was letting in the now fading sunlight which further improved the poor looks of the room. Katsuo opened his eyes and with the leg he already held outside the blanket further moved it aside and finally pushing it off the bed. As the bed dropped leaving only the stench of collected dust Katsuo seated himself up by the side of the bed ,facing the only window. He rubbed his eyes and finally got up. His body felt tensed and stiff so he slowly ,almost zombie like slipped to the window. This was just a single step yet it seemed to take eternity. When he finally reached the he had stepped into some old bread crumbles and something sticky that had "glued" one of his socks to his ankle. Katsuo first didn't notice this as he was more concerned with taking a look outside. Katsuo slowly pulled the ragged curtain to the side. The curtain were red with white dots and one dot was "replace" by a hole in size of a fist. At first the light blinded him for a moment but then by focusing his sight he managed to take a look outside. He was living on the second floor , right in front of him stood a house that covered the bare sight to the village Katsuo could have. Only thing he could see behind it was a tower standing somewhere closer to the center of the village. A window in front of him was slightly open so he could hear his neighbors arguing about something. He could care less though so he just looked down to see the stuck sticked to his ankle. He bent down to pick it up and the rose it to his face to smell it. After taking a slight whim his face expressed a relief. "Smells almost like candy...". Anyhow he then got dressed and before he knew it hunger had drawn him outside.

Katsuo strolled the narrow city streets. He was properly dressed now ,wearing his uniform. He then checked his pocket for the most important thing - his sleeping mask - and once he acknowledge its in its place he walked forth with a more confident pace. after a short walk he smelled a bakery. During whole day the sweet scent had focused to a certain place in the neighborhood. Katsuo's mouth started to water as he instinctively neared the well known bakery. Before he knew it he felt satiated ,his pockets a bit lighter and his head finally clear. It was finally time to move to the training.

Katsuo finally came to the Akako dojo. He could enter easily without much of question just some staring looks. He knew what they were thinking but he wasn't going to let him ruin his mood. People were leaving after hard day of training as it suddenly became dark. once Katsuo reached his training room ,he was already alone. There he slowly removed his jacket and and everything else he didn't want to get sweaty. After few moments he was there wearing only his pants. After few hops to mood himself up Katsuo closed his eyes relaxed his shoulders leaving his hands hanging by his sides ,relaxed his knees but still remained standing. He slowly breathed and recollected his training as well as sensitivity of his body. Then all of a sudden he rose his hands and stepped forth. After that few more steps followed with a certain hand movements representing sort of waves.

After few minutes Katsuo felt warmed up. He continued to have a little jog around the dojo. His bare feet slammed to the smoothly paneled wooden floor. Despite the slight slowdown he suddenly felt somewhat nostalgic. He remembered his old days of training. After a while head shook his head. During this time of dreaming he had his pace had increased over the seconds so he now was sprinting and therefore becoming a bit sweaty. He felt like running some more but he also understood that if he wears himself out like this he won't make much of a progress. As he stopped he didn't expect himself to catch a breath and instantly dropped down forth on his fists and started doing push ups. They seemed to be more tiring than usual so once he hit 150 he need to take a rest. He then recollected the remaining energy and pushed himself up on feet with a strike like forced . He then made a few steps back as his body was shocked by the sudden change of positions. After a short moment of recovery and catching his breath he realized physical strength training may come a bit later.Now he need to recover his technique. Not today however. He decided to walk home and take a rest first and come here full of strength to return to training more seriously in the actual morning.

The day 2 had arrived. He had awoken in the morning. Once in sch a long time he had awoken in the morning. And it felt good even despite the souring muscles and annoying noise coming from outside. Never the less he stood up going for his morning routine. He skipped breakfast and shaving though. He didn't put on socks either. He left house with a new excitement ,something had reawakened in him ,something long lost and dearly missed.

Katsuo entered the streets moving trough them in a swift pace , he was just jogging but he picked up speed slowly ,step by step. Once he was halfway to the dojo he's speed was that of an actual shinobi. Katsuo manevoured trough the packed streets avoiding physical contact with anyone and everything. He enjoyed the feeling of freedom. It was a magical sensation. Anyways he started to drop the speed as the dojo finally came into sight and stopped right by the entrance. He was wearing a T-shirt ,sandals and his uniform pants (those were the only ones in his wardrobe).

Katsuo finally entered the dojo , it was swarming with new students so he moved to the dojo room he had reserved earlier for himself. As he walked trough the hallways he held his head low. Though he wasn't very tired this instantly dropped his mood a bit and his breathing became slightly heavier. When he finally entered his training room he closed the door behind him and leaned against them. He closed his eyes inhaled and then moved forth.

Katsuo initiated his training by starting to jump in place. Then he shook his hands gently and slowly rounded his head while still hopping in place. Katsuo motivated himself by saying- " Alright man ,this is your day ,today you restart your life of a ninja..." . After a short while he started to train.At first he started to make gentle palm strikes and dodges. He did some shadow boxing just striking with his palm rather than fist and avoided doing extensive strikes. The pace at which he did strikes and dodges increased over time until he added some quick elbow strikes coming from sides and eventually ended the striking routine with an upward elbow strike powered by a forward shoulder dash. After that he didn't catch a breath and dropped forth holding his hands extended and forward. He entered a standard push up position however he didn't feel like doing the typical push ups. Instead Katsuo used his strength to push him up so hard he threw his own body in the air and then dropped backwards landing his shoulders and softening the crash by moving his hands backward. Never the less he then pushed once again throwing himself forth back into the push up position. At first he used pure hand strength but after a while it required some effort from his toes ,ankles and waist as well. Katsuo didn't care about the count performed even if it was decent. His muscle swelled yet he pushed himself trough the pain. He had never given up to pain or any other setbacks and this wasn't an exception. Katsuo continued this exercise without a rest until his muscles finally couldn't take no more and crashed with his face into the ground. At first he couldn't get up as his arms twisted and couldn't focus enough strength. After a short while of partly sleeping and resting ,his chest sticked to the ground by sweat and his chest heavily lifting he finally picked himself up. He felt his hands being worn out but that was just great. Katsuo got up straight closed his eyes , took few breaths and then ducked ,touched the ground with his fingertips and at the very same moment they made contact he hopped up jumping at a height bit over his own head while standing. Making sure he ain't hitting the ceiling Katsuo continued making hops. The most effort came not to do the very hops but to make them exactly alike. Each started once fingertips touch the ground and jumping exactly as high as the previous time. He didn't make count this time either and stopped the training after quite a while once he finally slipped over the puddle of his own sweat he had made beneath himself. The temperature in the room had risen as the ventilation could not make up for Katsuo's expelled heat. After few moment of laying on the dojos floor he got up seated ,wiped his forehead and slowly got up. He slowly moved towards the hallway walking slightly hunched over and at a pace of a drying paint. It seemed to take hours till he got outside and could finally breathe with a full lung. It was noon. Sun was at its peak so Katsuo seated himself down leaning against the dojo's wall. He looked like a beggar that has lost his hat if not for the uniform pants. Anyways after an hour of a slight nap Katsuo got up once again and returned to the dojo. Katsuo decided to relax and recover. He got into his fighting stance and slowly made sliding steps forth moving hes hands simultaneously to the same side and the to the other with the nest step as he moved on. Damn this is lame he thought to himself and shook his head as he returned to his regular stance. Instead he decided to meditate a bit. Katsuo crossed his legs Indian style , moved his hands to the sides with palms turned upward at the height of shoulders and elbows slightly yet in a relxed manner bent and basing on his knees at the side of his body. Katsuo closed his eyes and started to control his breathing by inhaling and exhaling only trough his nose. He calmed his mind and focused solely on his breathing. After a while sounds became much louder and clearer. He could even hear the fly buzzing around on the other side of the room. Finally even the sounds couldn't draw his attention. Light seemed to envelope him. Oddly enough he didn't like the calmness. He didn't feel like deserving it so he awoke from the meditation like a sleep and got up. At first he was angry gripped his hand into fist ready to punch anything for any reason but then...He calmed down. He wasn't ready for peace just yet but that just meant he had to keep going. He didn't quite smile but his face seemed to emit joy. "Here goes fighting routine again..." . Katsuo returned to his ounching routine delivering several quick jabs to the air in straight line. He continued jabbing for few minutes and then just changed angles and continued never moving out of place or displacing his balance center.

PostSubject: Re: Training Thread    Fri Dec 30, 2016 7:55 pm

Katsuo awoke today feeling a bad feeling. He had not been training as diligently as he should have been. Due to that it has effected his mind into a horrible state. He began to think of others who may come and try to hurt his village. He did not like this idea and it made him mad. So today he decided he would train on his genjutsu skills. He did not know how he was going to do it. Maybe he would find some villagers to use his genjutsu on. He let out a long needed stretch before finally getting dressed out of his sleeping clothes. He decided on eggs and pancakes for his breakfast of choice. He needed to make sure he had enough energy for the training. He was not going to let himself slip behind so easily. After he finished his food he decided he would have some fun. He walked out of his house locking the door, and started to look for potential victims for his genjutsu. Of course he would not hurt them by any means because they were like him, but it could be nice to play a prank or two on some people. He thought to himself of all the kinds of illusions he could produce. Some of them he could not use inside of the village for it could cause far to much trouble and noise. Which he needed to avoid getting into to much trouble. He knew he had to be on his best behavior for his family was looking down upon him. He never wanted to do anything that could bring shame to his families name. He held this above all, to be an honor thing of his. He has yet to bring dishonor to his family and did not want to start now. The streets of Seishigakure seemed to be rather busy today with kids and merchants and parents all running around trying to get their needs done. He laughed at some kids playing hide and seek with one another. He wondered if it is fair that a sensory could play this game rather well. He let out a small chuckle then zipped up his jacket while looking for people to use his genjutsu on. It was rather cold on this day of Seishigakure, he liked the cold more than being hot. When he was cold he could think much clearer and when he was hot he often became unstable and rash. It was one of those small ticks of his that he hated. While browsing the streets he came upon some new people he had never met before. After a small introduction he kept looking for other people to use it on. He knew that if he scared these people away it would only hurt his village and he did not know how they would react to his genjutsu. Some people may know it and just simply use Kai to get out, while other may try to attack the illusions. All of these ideas ran though his mind while looking through the crowds and crowds of people. It was unusually busy on this day. He hated being in the crowds of people, because he stood out like a sore thumb. After some searching he finally thinks he found the perfect person to use this jutsu on.

The person he decided to use his jutsu on was a small time thug. He made his life to pick on people just because his life was so shit. His name was Izura, he did not know his surname. He has failed the academy to many times that he finally gave up and now lives in a local food shop. He seemed to be living a rather shitty life, and even though his life is shitty he still needs to make people feel less than him. This guy was the perfect one to use this jutsu on. He could practice without feeling bad because this guy was indeed an asshole that no one really liked. So it would be nice to see him scared for a change. Katsuo leaned up against the wall while peeking through at him. He could not notice Katsuo because he was to busy picking on an old man. Katsuo already did not like the guy but why did he have to pick on someone obviously weaker. This was petty of this guy to do. It made him look pathetic, almost as though this old man was the only one he could pick on to make himself feel any bit better. Katsuo made an Animal Illusion of a wolf behind him. He made the wolf howl and watched as the man stumbled back from being startled. Katsuo made a small chuckle as he made more appear before the mans eyes. This worried the man named Izura. He did not know what was going on and was swatting at the illusions as if they were to disappear. Though each time he made a swing at them Katsuo made the wolves jump out of the way. Eventually the man began to run in a state of panic down the streets knocking people over while running away from the illusions. Katsuo dispelled the jutsu but the man kept running for his life as though he was about to be eaten asking people to help him. Though no one liked him so everyone ignored him, plus there was nothing there when people actually looked. Katsuo came out of the corner and talked to the old man telling him that if he bothers him again that he should just find Katsuo so he can practice his genjutsu on him. The old man let out a chuckle and thanked him for helping him from that annoying pest. Katsuo gave a small bow before looking for his next target. He could not find this target as simple as the rest for not everyone in this village was a complete asshole. Though he did have some in mind. After checking their usual spots he noticed that none of them were there at this time and this made Katsuo worry that he would not get to train his genjutsu as much as he wanted. Though this did not slow him down from looking for people. After about half an hour of searching he finally thinks he found another person to use it on.

The next person he was going to practice his genjutsu on seemed to be a rather old kid to be in the academy. He was picking on people of less size than he was, just to feel superior. Katsuo always hated this because it brought back memories of when he was in the academy, and how his old childhood friend was being picked on just like this. The other kid seemed to be rather large though so the bully kid felt much stronger than he was. Katsuo pondered awhile to think if he should really use a genjutsu on him. It would only be for mere entertainment purposes anyways and some slight training involved. He hopped onto a tree so he could get a better view of what exactly was going on down below. He did not like it one bit. The bull kid was hitting the other kid on the ground not even giving him a chance to get up and fight back. He just kept hitting and hitting and it seemed that their sensei was no where to be found. Katsuo took it into his own hands to help this poor kid out. He used once again an Animal Illusion technique on the Bully kid. He watched from above as the kid heard a loud growl from his back. Katsuo figured that if he saw a bear he would be scared enough to shit himself. The kid instantly stopped hitting the boy to turn around. From where he was standing the bear was only 1 foot away from him roaring load. The kid let out a small shriek, he was also screaming for help. While the kid on the ground had no idea what was exactly happening. For to him it just seemed the bully was just screaming for no reason. He got up and brushed himself off. Eventually the bully kid got a hold of a sensei and warned him that there was a bear chasing him and that everyone should run for their lives. When the sensei went to check it out there was no bear to be found because Katsuo had already released him from the genjutsu. The teacher also used Kai thinking that the kid must have fallen under a genjutsu from another student. It made the bully feel better. Katsuo jumped down from the tree and told the teacher what he saw about the kid beating on the other kid. The teacher told Katsuo to not use such jutsus on academy kids but Katsuo was not really listening. He went to check on the rather chubby kid to make sure he was alright. He whipped the tears from his eyes and told him that if he ever needed help again to find him. The kid thanked him. The bully did not receive any punishment because he had already been humiliated for pissing himself when he saw the bear. This made both Katsuo and the large kid laugh out loud. Though it was rude to laugh at other people's suffering, Katsuo felt that it was needed due to what he did to the other kid. Katsuo left the academy to look for another potential person to use his genjutsu on.

It took some time before he finally found his next target to torment. This one was of what appeared to be a fifteen year old girl yelling at her parents to buy her something. All of the things that she wanted were just stupid. One of which was just a small stuffed animal that in due time she would just discard and have wasted the money all together. Yet, she would still beg and beg for more and more things to the point she was basically screaming at them and demanding that they buy it. It seemed they lacked the same parental guide that Katsuo's parents had. If he ever yelled at them the way she did he would have been beaten and lucky to be eating something that is not through a straw. It seemed that her parents really did not care what she was saying or how she was saying it. Though this kind of disrespect did not go well with Katsuo. I do not think they would mind, he thought to himself while he thought of which jutsu to use on her. He only had a few of them and one could only be used with his bow. This made it hard for him to choose then he knew exactly what to do. He used his Narakumi no Jutsu (Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique) on her. He showed her visions of her parents being slaughtered by hundreds of arrows. She fell back in horror as her parents were being punctured by what seemed like an infinite number of arrows. She was in to much shock to say anything but screams. To her parents she had just seemed to fallen over and was screaming for no reason. To her it was gruesome and horrific. Katsuo made sure of that. Then the blood began to run to her feed and on her hands. The blood of her parents soaking through her, engulfing her. She had no idea what was going on but kept screaming and crying. She made quite a scene in the middle of the streets and the parents were worried about her. After a minute he released her. She was shaking by this point, but then stopped when she saw her parents were actually okay. She instantly hugged them and said sorry for all the things she has put them through. This seemed to shock the mother and father. They did not expect this from her but here she was saying things they did not expect. Katsuo felt like a secret helper though all of the things he has done today. Though some of it was unorthodox he knew that it would probably help them in the end case. Katsuo made his way back to his house, after a long day of using his jutsus on random people to try and help. He felt better than he did when he woke up and felt slightly stronger. He laid down on his bed and reflected on the day. He only seemed to help three people today but it was enough for him to smile. After closing his eyes he slept soundly through the night.

Katsuo awoke in a rather energetic mood this day. The sun was seeping through the moderately clean windows to give off a warm kiss to greet him while the clouds tried to hide the sun from its duties. It was all planned that he would have the day to himself with a nice picnic in the dense forest of Seishi. The forest in question that keeps Seishi hidden from any potential threats from enemies. The river runs through the forest which many dangerous herbs and wildlife species call this place home, and pose a threat for anyone who may wonder into it, yet it seemed to be a delightful place for a person of nature such as a young Senju. The young Senju then made his way into the restroom, there he washed his face and brushed his teeth afterwards before heading into the mildly warm shower and embraced what it had to offer. After his soak, he then made his way back into his room and headed straight for the closet to pick out his outfit.

Making his way downstairs and leaping down to the ground floor from the second last step, Katsuo could be seen in armour emblazoned with the Senju symbol worn over a simple black jumpsuit, with a distinctive white fur collar. This armour was constructed from numerous blue metal plates, formed into multiple protective guards along the wearers body, in particular: chest, waist, shoulders and upper arms. Just because he was going out for a picnic did not mean he might not encounter trouble while he was there, right? He made his way over to the fridge and took out some bread and other ingredients such as meat, cheese, large quantities of fruit and juice and placed them all in concealing bags to keep them fresh and tidy. With the wide variety of foods, he then placed all of these in a basket along with napkins and a blanket which would be soon accompanying him to the forest.

He then made breakfast to help start his day with some nutrition and energy which could also make his body feel more prepared and full so he would have time to embrace the surroundings that he would observing later on this evening. He pulled out a box of wheat flakes with some raspberries to compliment them and milk to pour over. Once prepared for himself, apple juice was also poured into a half pint glass and set beside the bowl of cereal. The spoon took larger portions than needed which indicated that Katsuo was in a rush to get to the destination he had set for himself. He rarely went out to the dense forest. In fact, he had only been there on missions, helping to find a cat, and helping to secure a scroll from the hands of a small gang. This all happened when he was only 15 of course and had came a long way in terms of skill and intellect since then. Locking the door behind him, Seishi scanned the street up and down to find a lot of people out doing their own personal errands with shopping while children were running, playing and laughing. The street was too crowded for the young Senju's taste and so hastily made his way to the Village gates with his basket in hand.

With luck, Seishi did not run into any danger, in fact it was quite peaceful, just the way he liked it. He made his way to a secluded area near a stream that the water could be heard crashing ever so slightly among the banks that kept it detained within the trench. The flowers glowed with various colors depending on which area he looked, the majority being a reddish pink hue with the reflective ray of the sun's light. The breeze was not too strong but enough to keep cool from the smothering wildlife that was around him. He sat the basket down and looked at the contents. He began with a blanket, laying it across a firm and even patch of grass. Second of all, he placed out the food that surrounded he would eat and thee plates and napkins to go along with them. With the food before him he gave thanks and began tucking into the various ingredients and combining them to make a rather delicious sandwich. When he finished his sandwich, the young Senju became quite full. The food however, was still in a rather large quantity and so he placed them back inside the basket to keep them fresh in case he returned to them for a snack later. He lay back and closed his eyes as the suns glare shone down upon him. He placed his arms behind his head and listened to the wildlife that occupied the surroundings. The various insects were calling out for another while the birds tweeted away almost as if they were composing a little orchestra of themes of the wildlife. Time to get Training.

Katsuo sat up and crossed legs with his back straight, trying his best to feel the presence of the natural energy. He could hear the many sounds of the rustling of the leaves, the river that flowed past, the monkeys speaking to one another in the distance but the presence was hard to feel. He tried his best to remain perfectly still otherwise. Seconds turned to minutes and minutes turned to what felt like hours before Katsuo finally found that feint presence of natural energy. He then began harbouring it and tried balancing it with the physical and spiritual energy that he had mustered up while he focused. The balance soon became imperfect and Katsuo felt a change in his body. This was the beginning of Senjutsu.
