ELEMENT SYSTEM:
Nature Transformation or Chakra Elements, are an advanced form of chakra control that entails the molding and defining of the nature/element of one's chakra, altering its properties and characteristics for use in techniques.
Here on NR, elements are broken down into a tier system to help determine interactions as well as how “powerful” an element might be. However, it should be noted that ALL elements are only as powerful as your imagination allows them to be.
Each character is able to have THREE TIER 1 ELEMENTS maximum and a maximum of TWO TIER 2 elements OR ONE TIER 3 Element. One cannot have a Tier 3 element in addition to any Tier 2 elements. The above is subjective to any additional traits or limited abilities purchased from the YEN SHOP.
The tier system has 3 levels to determine how powerful an element would be. To begin, we will start with the foundational elements, or Tier 1:
The Five Basic Natures (五大基本性質, Godai Kihon Seishitsu) are the five elemental chakra natures, which are the foundation of all elemental ninjutsu. They are so vital to the shinobi lifestyle that each of the Five Great Shinobi Countries is named after one of the five. Each element is naturally weaker than and stronger than another:
TIER 1 -
Fire (火, Hi) is strong against Wind but weak against Water.
Wind (風, Kaze) is strong against Lightning but weak against Fire.
Lightning (雷, Kaminari) is strong against Earth but weak against Wind.
Earth (土, Tsuchi) is strong against Water but weak against Lightning.
Water (水, Mizu) is strong against Fire but weak against Earth.
TIER 2 -
These elements are a combination of two of the Tier 1 elements to create a new element all together. An example of this would be Wood Release, which is a combination of the Earth and Water Releases. What is unique about this tier is that while in general, they are stronger than the Tier 1 elements, they will still interact in a realistic manner, meaning that while Wood Release is a Tier 2 element, Wood is still weaker to Fire even though water is one of its base elements.
TIER 3 -
These elements are a combination of three of the Tier 1 elements and the only one we have an example of from canon would be Dust Release, which is a combination of Fire + Earth + Wind natures. Tier 3 elements are considered Limited in nature and can only be purchased through the YEN STORE, even if you make a custom one.
Obtaining An Element:
There are several ways to obtain an element, the easiest of which is to simply reach C-tier. Once you do that, you will automatically be granted an element. One can also begin with an element if they choose the appropriate starting perk which allows for a free element that DOES NOT take one of your capped slots.
At any point you may train to learn additional elements up to your cap, including Tier 2 elements provided you meet the specific requirements for those. However, the more elements you already have, the harder it is to train for them. In addition, even if you buy a Tier 3 element with Yen, you must still train for it as part of its requirements. The requirements for training elements are listed below:
First Tier 1: 1,000 words OR 2,000 Ryo
Second Tier 1: 2,000 words OR 4,000 Ryo
Third Tier 1: 3,000 words OR 6,000 Ryo
First Tier 2: 2,000 words OR 4,000 Ryo
Second Tier 2: 3,000 words OR 6,000 Ryo
Tier 3: 3,000 words OR 6,000 RyoElemental Combinations:
It is possible to combine two different Tier 1 elements in a technique cast by two different people. This is what is known as a combination technique. When done, it casts two techniques simultaneously that combine to increase the overall power of the techniques by +1. These must be applied as normal techniques with the elements both listed as well as the requirements being both users being present when the technique is cast. If you plan to use shadow clones for this, they will be graded with more scrutiny. Combo techniques are generally a combination of two different elements, like wind and fire for example. This cannot be stacked with any other bonuses (Tier or perk) it CAN be stacked with elemental kekkei genkai that give one access to a more powerful tier 1 element. This still cannot surpass the +2 buff limit unless BOTH participants have the "booster" perk.
A Synchro technique is when two users use the same technique simultaneously. This simply requires both members of the "duo" to know the same technique and to cast it at the same time at the same target. The techniques will combine to become more powerful, +1 to technique power. This cannot be stacked with any other bonuses (Tier or perk) it CAN be stacked with elemental kekkei genkai that give one access to a more powerful tier 1 element. This still cannot surpass the +2 buff limit unless BOTH participants have the "booster" perk.
