"Believe in your power and reach for victory."

Graduation Exams! [EVENT] Academ10

The streets of Konoha bustle with life usually not seen outside of seasonal festivals. With the delegations of Kumo and Suna arriving only a few days ago, the various shops and tourist attractions had been busier than ever. The various academy students and their sensei had been given time to rest and visit the village’s various attractions, but today was the day for the Academy Exams to begin. The purpose of hosting the exams in the leaf was to show the solidarity of the different villages and their relations. While such things were normally handled through summits and peace talks by the leaders of the respective villages, this time, they had decided that hosting a joint exam would be a good way to not only show their commitment to the temporary peace currently active, but also as a way for them to show off the strength of the individual ninja that they were sending for promotion into the official rank of Genin. With the Hokage overseeing the exam from a secret room with the foreign sensei and his personal guard, they have guaranteed fairness in the grading process.

"The goddess of victory smiles upon the strong of spirit."
Graduation Exams! [EVENT] Academ11

The village itself was decorated in a very nationalistic fashion with the leaf symbol on full display hung from flags along the streets and displayed in the windows of shops and the like. Paper Lanterns and various festive banners and decorations hung all over the place welcoming all the foreign delegations into the leaf and wishing them luck in the upcoming exams. The street vendors had been pumping out the various specialty foods that the leaf were best known for. The academy building itself was very decorated with specific signs hung up to direct incoming students to the waiting room where all the Shinobi Hopefuls would congregate as they awaited the official beginning of the exam. Their sensei would be directed to a room that had a monitor viewing into the waiting area as well as the testing rooms to be able to keep an eye on their students throughout the process. There were also various snacks and concessions in the Jonin Lounge to keep them comfortable while the exams were ongoing. As the students and their sensei filtered in, they would be directed into their various places with the students being sent to find their assigned seating in the waiting rooms and the sensei were sent to rest in the jonin lounge.

Graduation Exams! [EVENT] Akiyo_10

One Nanao Akiya was sitting at the desk in the testing area preparing to begin the exams. She knew that the students had arrived and were in the waiting area at this point, so it wouldn’t be long now before she went in to greet them and begin the exams. Looking at the table in front of her, she saw headbands representing Konoha, Kumo and Suna. It was an incredible honor and responsibility to be the one in charge of actually proctoring all the exams, so she would have to do her absolute best. Nodding to herself, she would stand from the desk and make her way into the conjoined waiting room where the various students were waiting for the exams to begin. Opening the door and stepping in she would get a look around the room at the various students gathered, and they would get their first look at her. She was a rather tall woman with bright green hair and green eyes. She wore a traditional Chuunin vest and her headband holding her hair back with the insignia on top of her head. “Alright students! Settle down, we are about to begin!” She would give them some time to get themselves quieted down before she started explaining what was going to be happening.

“Alright, listen up! My name is Akiya-Sensei and I will be the proctor for this year’s graduation exam. This exam will be happening in three parts, Ninjutsu, Shurikenjutsu and a written portion. We will begin with the ninjutsu portion, as your name is called, you will report into the conjoined office to perform the Transformation Technique, the Clone Technique and the Body Replacement Technique. You will have two chances to successfully perform each of these techniques before you must leave the exam room to allow the next student to come in. When you leave the room you will return here to wait for the other students to finish before we all move outside to the next portion of the exams. Now, if the first student would follow me!” With that, a brown haired male in the front would stand and enter the room to begin his portion of the exams.

Graduation Exams! [EVENT] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Graduation Exams! [EVENT]   Graduation Exams! [EVENT] EmptyMon Apr 25, 2022 6:23 am

Kosuke made his way through the streets of the leaf village. He had woken up early on this particular morning with the goal of tackling his biggest challenge yet, the Genin Exam. It had been a long time coming, but now was his chance to not only become a true ninja of Konoha, but to also become an independent person capable of taking on missions, making money, and more importantly, making a name for himself. As someone who wasn’t a member of a fancy clan, he had to claw his way to where he was with his own two hands and that meant that he was doing his absolute darndest to prove himself. He wore his normal clothing consisting of black pants and sandals, a white shirt, a red vest and a silver and green pendant on his neck. He made his way into the academy as he would have any other day, but today, he had to admit, the air felt a little… different. He could feel his heart flutter as he realized he was moments away from attaining the goal he had striven for over the last several years. That headband was finally just within his reach and now was his chance to reach out and grab it.

Making his way inside the building, he would look at the small card he held that had the info he needed to get in, a map/directions to the building and then to the exam waiting area, as well as his seating number. Once he found his seat, he would simply sit down and watch as the room slowly filled up with more and more children. It was pretty clear that it wasn’t just his class that was participating as he recognized some students from other classes, but also noticed kids that didn’t even look like they belonged in the village at all. That is when he remembered their sensei had told them they would be participating in the exams with foreign students to help foster village comeraderie or something. He didn’t care, he was only here to pass this exam, he would worry about meeting them at a later date. Finally, their proctor stepped out, a rather conspicuous looking green haired woman who introduced herself as their proctor for the day. He guessed it made sense not to use someone who knew them as that may be room for favoritism.

After she gave her little speech and began calling names, his heart started pounding as the nerves started to ease their way into his system. He shook his head to try to get rid of the anxious thoughts that had started to creep their way in, but it only worked a little bit. Finally, his name was called and he was sent into the room. The woman was sitting behind a desk that looked like it held leaf, sand and cloud headbands. She then told him to get started whenever he was ready, so he did what he had practiced oh so many times. Forming some quick hand seals, he would transform into a mirror image of the woman before turning back with a puff of smoke. He would then form a clone of himself after making a few more handseals. Finally, he would switch places with a nearby chair, though he would trip a little bit when he landed that one. Though, he had successfully completed all three jutsu. Finally, he would bow and exit the room to return back to his seat. He hoped he performed well enough on this portion and he started worrying more about the next parts to come.

PostSubject: Re: Graduation Exams! [EVENT]   Graduation Exams! [EVENT] EmptyMon Apr 25, 2022 12:47 pm

Shojin had been preparing for this day for quite awhile.  It was a dream of his to become a Ninja, but not to actually... be a ninja. Rather... Ninja sort of entered adulthood sooner.  Of course, he wanted to be a great Shinobi as well, and become powerful, and be good at what he did.  But the real reason this particular exam mattered so much to him had nothing to do with any of that.  He simply wanted to be able to make his own decisions. To become an adult, and to be able to resist his parents' tyrannical dominance over all of his time.

It was not as though they were abusive.  The opposite, in fact.  He was treated like gold.  All of his needs were taken care of, at least to the best of their abilities.  And they loved him dearly, feelings which were returned by him as well.  He wasn't doing it to get away from them, or to leave them.  Moreso, his goal was to be seen as strong and independent from them.  He was tired of the expectations they held for him.  How was he alone supposed to turn around the clan's fiscal failure over decades?

Shojin refocused on the room around him as a rather peculiar green woman entered and began her speech.  It wasn't long before she called Kosuke's name.  "Heyyoooo!! Go get 'em!"  It was just like Shojin to make a scene.  However, he knew a little about Kosuke by now, and he didn't think Kosuke had anyone to encourage him, or to have his back.  So, Shojin would be that person for him.  He still had yet to approach him and make the offered he'd been planning to... maybe he would do that after they both passed the exams!  He knew Kosuke would pass.  They'd trained the jutsu together, after all.

As Kosuke entered the exam room, Shojin craned his neck for a peak.  He didn't see much, but he did notice a chair inside.  An idea formed in his head for when it was his turn.  Sure, it was probably over-the-top, but that was Shojin's entire personality.  Moments later, Shojin's own name was called, and he was prepared.  He was confident, and he knew he'd do well... he'd practiced these jutsu incessantly.  Shojin would stand, and in the lobby, perform one of the required jutsu; Body Replacement Technique.  Suddenly, there was an extra chair in the waiting room, and an absence of one in the exam room.  In its place, Shojin stood.  He'd immediately perform the next two techniques, stringing them together.  Ideally, when the woman whirled around, realizing where Shojin had gone, she'd turn to see three exact copies of herself, where Shojin had transformed into her, and then immediately cloned himself.  He'd offer a smile and a bow, and perform Body Replacement Technique once more, replacing the previously missing exam room chair.  Then he'd take a seat, a confident smile on his face.

A lone blonde haired kid made his way along the streets of Konoha, the sun was up and he was on his way to the ninja academy building. He had on his normal outfit, consisting of white pants, a blue tank top with golden trim and a white overcoat that flowed down to the back of his knees. He had a single marking on his right arm that was the kanji for “Human”. He made his way not in a rush, but also with clear purpose. That is all he had on him though at this time, as he didn’t have a current need for anything else. He was hardly in a rush to become a ninja, but today happened to be the day for his promotional exams so it couldn’t be helped. As he entered the academy building, he made his way to the designated areas, following the signs into the room where he would have to find his seat. It was nearer to the back than he would have liked, preferring to sit nearer to exits or the front of a room. He would take the time to observe the other students, taking note of the black haired kid that went in and then the other kid that went in and came out faster than the teacher could return to her seat.

Finally, it was his turn to enter the room, which he would and once prompted he would preform the techniques, creating a clone, transforming into a chair and then replacing himself with the chair in the corner. As he had practiced these techniques so much over his time in the academy, he wasn’t worried about failing to use them on command here. Once he finished, he observed the green haired sensei take some notes before she allowed him to leave and moved to call in the next person. Once he sat down, he would keep watching the next person who went into the room, wondering slightly about how he would fare in comparison to the other students participating.

PostSubject: Re: Graduation Exams! [EVENT]   Graduation Exams! [EVENT] EmptyTue Apr 26, 2022 5:45 pm

Hisomu had been wandering through the village of Konohagakure for a considerable time, albeit incredibly early. She had been given directions from a typically kind soul, but she was also a rather energetic person in the morning, which showed as she was up at unusual hours compared to the common man. Whilst Hisomu skipped through the village towards the building where the exams took place, she’d spin around on her heel to take in the ‘glorious’ view of the village.

She’d pear towards the mountainside of the village and ponder for a moment before noticing that she was running rather late, or about to, if she did not hasten towards her location. Whilst she wasn’t entirely familiar with the village, she had managed to plan an ideal route from where she had rested that’d spare the most time. Sprinting through the village, Hisomu eventually arrived at the academy site just in time, and with the introductions done at the entrance of the building and lead towards the room where she was supposed to be, Hisomu would read her note that had her seat and so on.

Confidently smiling at the other students within the room, and throwing a few finger-guns at the notable students in the room – namely those with actual names – Hisomu was shining with confidence. Yeah, nothing was presumably capable of bringing her down from this high right now. She had studied with her family, because she needed to stay as much ahead as she could – so she her studies be focused on genjutsu. Therefore, when she sat down – she was utterly relaxed. There wasn’t a single hint of doubt shining from her as she got proper comfortable with her seat and leaned backwards. Crossing her arms behind her head, Hisomu was enjoying the moment and eyeing every anxious student passing by with either a gleeful or anxious expression which presumably said enough for how they did in the other locale for their testing.

There was the oddly green haired woman as well, and Hisomu couldn’t help but perk an eyebrow at the equipment she adorned, such as the vest. Hisomu’s gaze shifted towards the roof and then the corners for any notable machinery such as cameras. If she spotted any, Hisomu would grin as if she had something up her sleeve – but she did nothing but lightly shrug as she abstained from putting someone under a genjutsu for a laugh. This was the exam, and when Hisomu’s name was called.

‘Hisomu Uchiha!’ She’d stand right up, push her chair back and walk proper swagger throughout the classroom, and turn on her heel the last moment to shoot finger-guns at the other students. It’ll be an easy exam, and it sure would be as Hisomu entered the other locale and was instructed to do the three jutsu in a row. Firstly, she’d shift her location with a nearby chair before falling back into it with an utterly relaxed mannerism. Easily weaving the following hand-seals, a copy of Hisomu would appear in the chair next to her. Although, due to it being an academy tier clone, it could not do anything really. Hisomu’s attention shifted towards the sensei and winked before she’d continue with her last jutsu – the transformation jutsu.

Just who should she copy. . . oh right! Hisomu thought of one of her big brothers and shifted into a perfect copy of him, and this one had the Sharingan! She’d sport the fake imagery of her brother for a moment before undoing the jutsu and gracefully bow. With both hands stuffed in her pockets, Hisomu returned to the locale as confident as ever and sat down. Raising a finger-gun up to her mouth, she’d blow air at the ‘barrel’ of her ‘gun’. Easily done for someone as engaged as Hisomu in her studies!

Graduation Exams! [EVENT] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Graduation Exams! [EVENT]   Graduation Exams! [EVENT] EmptyTue Apr 26, 2022 8:19 pm

Sumiyuri woke up looking around frantically. It was already bright out and with graduation today, she couldn't waste one minute. She jumped up and ran to the kitchen where her parents stood together. They had a buffet of all of Sumi's favorite breakfast foods. Sumi smiled and was thankful that she had supportive parents. After eating she jumped up and grabbed her bag. Today is the day she becomes a genin! Her parents wished her luck as she headed out the door. Excitement and nerves were running rampant inside of Sumi. With a light jog and a bunch of calming breathing, she finally arrived.

The academy was decked out with many posters. This apparently was the first time the leaf has held a joint academy graduation. The sand and cloud were also attending. Her whole life she had envied the sand. They had strong ninja and all of them had creative ninjutsu. She wondered if she would get the chance to meet lord Kazekage. It would be an honor of a lifetime. There was a vast amount of people walking around and she only recognized a few from the academy. It was incredible how many people were there. Many had parents and siblings watching as their soon to be genin walked into the building. Sumi wished her parents were there but remembered the amazing breakfast they had made.

She headed in and sat in her assigned seat. A guy from her own village sat beside her. They never spoke but she kept looking at him. He had black hair and with red and white clothes. He got called up before her by the name of Kosuke. She wondered how she had never met him. Many of the other academy students had grown up together and she had just recently moved here. She was in her thoughts dazing off when she thought she heard her name.

"Sumiyuri Chinoike?" a female called out. Sumi jumped slightly and then got up. It was time for her to shine. She followed the proctor into a small room. Inside of the room she saw a table with the headbands of all the attending villages. She saw the leaf headband and started to focus. "Whenever you are ready Sumiyuri." she said. Sumi had practiced the order several times at home and was ready. First the transformation jutsu. Sumi looked hard at the lady in front of her. Her green long hair and white gown. She made the signs dog, boar, and ram. She looked down and saw her clothes were the same as the proctor. Sumi looked with just her eyes in the mirror across the room and saw a flawless transformation into the person in front of her. The proctor smiled. Sumi then undid her jutsu and moved on to the next, substitution. She looked at the headbands on the table and made the signs for the substitution jutsu. In a flash, Sumi was standing on the table where the hidden cloud headbands were and the cloud headband was almost falling in her place. The clank was loud and she hoped she hadn't broken it. Now to her last one, clone jutsu. She jumped off the table and made the signs for the clone jutsu. She made two clones. She held their hands with a giddy smile. The clones danced with her then they all took a bow before she released the jutsu.

"Thank you, that was beautiful Sumiyuri. Please return to your seat for more instructions."

Graduation Exams! [EVENT] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Graduation Exams! [EVENT]   Graduation Exams! [EVENT] EmptyWed Apr 27, 2022 7:08 am

“An Average Beginning…”

Nanao was simply in waiting for the most part, observing student after student, some she recognized, some she didn’t. While the monotony of the test was one thing, she had to admit, most of the students she had seen so far were mediocre at best. Finally, she went to the door to call in the next student, a kid she had seen around, but didn’t know much about. “Kosuke, come on down.” Once the raven haired student entered the room, she would return to the desk to take notes on his performance, “Begin when you’re ready.” She would say with a smile and he performed admirably, excluding the slight falter at the end of his substitution technique. She knew a little about the kid and for him to have gotten this far just proved how much he had worked to improve alone. It was pretty well known that he was a homeless street kid who lived in the training grounds. While she wished she could do something for him, it was against the policy of the academy for teachers to have that sort of relationship with the kids until after they graduated. Though, once they graduated, she was certain the boy wouldn’t have any trouble making money as he was rather talented.

“A showman if ever there was one…”

Once he was finished with all three, she would send him out and make her way back to the door to call in the next student, and on that note she would internally groan. Shojin Kagemori was a student she had heard a lot about, yet was a student she didn’t know personally. She had heard from other teachers though that he was a bit of a loose canon and while he was technically proficient with his skills, he lacked the sense of when and where to use his abilities at the appropriate time. But, it was her job to test him, so test him she would. “Shojin Kagemori, make your way down when you are ready.” Before she could even turn, she noticed a few things, there was a puff of smoke and where the kid had been sitting was now two chairs stacked on top of eachother, “Wh-” she didn’t get a chance to say much of anything as she turned to see three copies of herself before the kid bowed, turned back into his normal appearance and vanished back to his normal place leaving a chair in his stead. “O-okay then…” She would then turn back and call in the next student.

“An Enigmatic puppeteer…”

After a few students came and went, she finally got the chance to call in the first student marked with a foreign insignia next to his name, one named Akira. The kid was blonde and obviously more suited for the desert climates of the Land of Wind than the more temperate climates the Land of Fire was known for. But, he entered the room and stood, waiting patiently to be ordered to begin his examination. She had to admit, she appreciated a little control after the grandiose display she had seen earlier. “You may begin when ready.” And with that, he performed the required ninjutsu in a rather common and straight forward manner. While Shojin had been the only student to really show ingenuity in the test thus far, the others had performed as required so it was nothing she could penalize them for anyways. Once he was done, she would take a few notes and then send him on his way to call in the next student, wondering what sorts of kids would be coming up next, it was anyone's guess at this point, after all.

“Confidence is key…”

After a few more students had come and gone Nanao came across a name that was not one she recognized outside of the clan name. No, the clan name she recognized greatly, the Uchiha clan was world famous after all. Opening the door and calling out the name, “Hisomu Uchiha!” She would return to her seat to wait for the unusually confident student. The young woman entered the exam room with a confident swagger before breezing through the required jutsu, finishing it off with a well executed transformation jutsu into one of her relatives no doubt if the sharingan in her eyes was anything to go by. When she released the technique, she bowed, put her hands in her pockets and left the area, it was clear that she was confident in her abilities. As she left, Nanao took some notes on the quite masterful performance as well as her personality and demeanor. While she certainly had the skills, she seemed a bit overconfident. That would be something to watch in her developing stages as a ninja, but it wasn’t enough to prevent her from graduating or anything. Now, if she had tried to use a jutsu on the proctor or something, then maybe things would have been different, she is a foreign ninja after all. Well, it was time for Nanao to call in the next student anyways, so she would stand and approach the door.

“Dancing on the table…”

Calling out the door, “Sumiyuri Chinoike?” was all she said before a young, red headed girl made her way into the exam room. Once she was inside, Nanao would sit and motion for her to begin, “Whenever you are ready Sumiyuri.” With that, the girl seemed to focus before transforming. It was a successful transformation so she would mark that down on her notepad before watching her replace herself with a headband and appear on the desk before jumping down and making a couple clones to do a little dance before finishing with a bow. She had performed admirably, able to use all the required jutsu successfully. “Thank you, that was beautiful Sumiyuri. Please return to your seat for more instructions.” With that, the red head returned into the waiting area and Nanao was left to finish her mark up of that student before calling in the next one. This went on for a few more kids until she had finally called them all into the room and seen their jutsu. Finally, it was time for her to come out and begin the next phase. She would go stand back in front of the room to address all the kids gathered there, “Alright students! Good job on the ninjuts portion, it is now time to begin the Shurikenjutsu portion. This part will begin in the academy courtyard, so please follow me as we make our way there.”

Graduation Exams! [EVENT] Picsar11

If the students decided to follow her, they would go through the halls of the academy taking a couple turns before exiting the building into a training courtyard. There was a dirt area for taijutsu practice with dummies nearby, but across from that, there was a log with a target on it and a line roughly ten meters away. “Alright, you will be performing a basic shurikenjutsu test, you must throw five shuriken at the target, three of the five must hit within the center circle! You may not be called to go in the same order as the ninjutsu portion, but that is fine, it is meant to throw you off a little bit so try not to stress about that too much.” She would then begin calling names where the student would walk up to the line, grab the five shuriken and then throw them either one at a time or all at once with the goal of landing them within a circle in the center of the target that was roughly ten centimeters in diameter (4 inches).

As the various students came in and out of the exam room, Kosuke couldn’t help but think about how the different students were doing. He took note of Shojin’s exuberant personality, that guy was something else, he also snuck a glance at the girl that sat next to him. She was hard to miss with her bright red hair after all. When she was called up, he found out her name was Sumiyuri. It was an interesting name with a good amount of flow to it. But, he didn’t hold onto it too much. He also noticed that Akira kid went in as well as the other girl, Hisomu. They all seemed to have big personalities, from what he could tell anyways. As the first portion of the exams finished up, he would follow the teacher outside to the courtyard to begin the next portion. When his name was finally called, he would steel his nerves and approach the table where the weapons he would be using could be found. While he didn’t exactly know why, he had always been pretty good at Shurikenjutsu, so he didn’t really worry too much about this exam, though there was always the chance the wind would be against him as it were.

Picking up the first shuriken, he would let it fly only for it to land just towards the middle but still off by several centimeters, yet it still fell within the passing circle. The second shuriken he sent out landed directly next to that one. His third shuriken went flying through the air, cutting it like the weapon that it was before landing almost dead center, literally off by like half a centimeter. His fourth shuriken was close to that, but still off slightly. But this messed up his aim for his final shuriken with it barely making it into the passing circle, but he had managed to pass this portion due to all five of his shuriken landing in the passing circle. Once he was done, he would collect the shuriken and place them back on the table how he had found them and he would make his way back into the line. He wondered if anyone would get a truly perfect score by nailing all five right dead center. That would be a sight to behold after all, though he didn’t recall anyone having quite that much skill with it in his classes but he could be wrong.

PostSubject: Re: Graduation Exams! [EVENT]   Graduation Exams! [EVENT] EmptyWed Apr 27, 2022 7:06 pm

That’s one of the exams down so far, and Hisomu was feeling a bit anxious about the upcoming test as she wasn’t the best regarding physical tasks. Although, that was not enough to lessen her mood as Hisomu followed the teacher outside as well to undertake the new test. Hisomu was full of energy, and it’d show as she stood somewhat impatiently, raising one shoulder whilst lowering the over and numerous erratic movements.

Hisomu glanced at the other students present, but to be honest with herself – the only one that stood slightly out was Kosuke and was simply due to his features reminding her of her own clan. Besides that, there wasn’t anything for her to notice. Hisomu was focused on her exam and wanted to make herself proud of her achievements and return to Kumogakure victorious! But this whole gimmick would be a wee bit better if it included genjutsu, the genuine area she was supposed to specialise in.

When Hisomu was called upon, she’d have five shuriken between each finger on her right hand and the fifth in her left hand. Hisomu flung the shuriken forward at the target before her as if she was dealing cards in a poker game. Her initial shuriken flew way off the target at the end – which almost fooled her into believing she was successful.

Hisomu nervously chuckled before steeling herself and focusing on the target before her with all two brain cells available. If angels were real, they would certainly be seen guiding Hisomu’s shuriken through the pierced air and towards the target, but the fifth one and last shuriken went towards the target in a large turn.  Almost. Hisomu’s fifth shuriken almost missed, but in the end she managed to hit four out of five shuriken.
"That's more like it! Buh-yah!" Hisomu triumphantly cheered out before returning to her spot with as much glee as she had upon entering the building. Sure, she had missed one of the shuriken but at least the majority hit - and Hisomu's specialty wasn't going to be in this area either, so. . no reason to complain!

Akira simply watched the other students enter after him into the little exam room. He didn’t really care much about how they did, he was here for himself and no one else. He did take note that some of them seemed to be pretty confident in their performance so perhaps not all of the ninja to be were totally hopeless. Closing his eyes he would give himself a bit of a break to destress before he heard the teacher come back into the room and begin talking. Once prompted he would follow the rest of the students and the teacher to the next area where he took note of the fighting pits and targets. He was not overly thrilled about this portion as he didn’t particularly care for direct hand to hand fighting. Being a puppeteer, he excelled in controlling his environment using his puppets to do the fighting for him as opposed to having to get close to his opponents himself. But as it turned out, this was simply an aptitude test to show their ability with throwing shuriken. He had to admit this should be fairly simple but he wouldn’t let his confidence override his sense.

Once his turn came to pass, he would step up to the table and grab his first shuriken and size up the target. It didn’t seem very far away so it should be no problem to hit, or so he thought. Throwing his first star he would land a hit in the designated area, good start. Picking up a second and a third, he would release them in quick succession with the second hitting and the third missing completely. Now thrown off slightly, he would throw his fourth shuriken and miss once more. That meant passing this portion was totally riding on landing this final shuriken. Bringing it in and planting a good luck kiss on the bladed weapon, he would let it soar and hit the mark just barely past the line but still, it was enough to pass. Feeling the anxiety leave him as he knew he had passed this round, he would make his way back to the waiting area with his apathetic look back on his face.

Once she had made it back to her seat, Sumi kind of dazed off a bit, just getting lost in her thoughts about various things. She loved to look out the windows at the trees outside, there were exactly three hundred and seventeen species of trees in the village proper, how did she know this? Well that is because Sumiyuri Chinoike is a ‘tree nerd’ as some of the other students call her. But this sort of thing was common for the red haired girl. Her loner personality often made it hard for her to make many friends. But she didn’t mind it too badly, the way she had been taught to look at that kind of thing was that even if she didn’t have many friends, the ones she did have would be far more better friends to her, closer friends, if that made sense. She was shocked from her thoughts when she heard the teachers voice once again, telling them to move to the courtyard for the next portion.

Once the class got there, she noticed several of them move and throw shuriken, doing pretty well so far so she hoped she could do so well as them. Standing in front of the target holding all five shuriken in one hand, she would allow a soft smile to appear on her face as she had decided that no matter if she passed or failed, she knew she was giving it her all. Closing her eyes and letting the ninja stars fly she heard several thuds and when she opened her eyes, three of the five had made their mark on the board. That meant that she had managed to pass! Leaping slightly for joy she would then quickly make her way back to be with the other students excited for the next parts of the exam!

Shojin would stand, and wonder for only about half a second whether what he'd done was over-the-top.  True to only worrying for half a second, however, he'd immediately go back to conversing with his fellow classmates as they followed this weird green lady to where the Shurikenjutsu test would be. Shurikenjutsu!  It was one of the things he was best at.  Swords, and throwing weapons were about the limit to his skills.  Well, those and some sealing jutsu that he really hadn't quite figured out.  He'd confidently walk out to the makeshift exam site.

As before, each time someone that Shojin recognized was called, he'd pipe up with words of encouragement and become their own personal hype man for about ten seconds.  Eventually, however, it was his turn to throw his Shuriken.  He didn't know how to do anything impressive here, save for throwing two shurikens, one in eat hand.  So, that's what he did.  Thonk.  Thonk, thonk.  Thonk, thonk.  All five projectiles landed true to their target, just as he knew they would.  Of course they would; he was lucky in this matter, for they happened to be testing in something that he had extensive practice in, and he didn't even know that was the case!

Graduation Exams! [EVENT] Giphy

Nanao was not a woman who was easily impressed. She hadn’t even been so excited when she had graduated the academy so why should she get excited over these students performing in their own exams? This was a question she couldn’t answer as she WAS getting excited for their performance. As soon as they arrived, she pulled out the list for the next phase of the exams, “Kosuke, Please come forward.” The black haired male moved forwards with a hint of nervousness as he grabbed up the shuriken for his turn. Thus far, none of the students had passed somehow. She was frankly amazed that they had entered to begin with. As he threw his, she had to admit she got excited to see that not only had someone finally passed, but actually hit five out of the five shuriken into the target area. Next on her list…

“Hisomu Uchiha, Please come forward.” Said uchiha female moved with just as much confidence as she had displayed in the first exam, picking up four shuriken in one hand and the fifth in the other. As she let them fly, four of them hit their mark with one flying off to who knows where. She pumped her fists and grinned a happy grin, it was obvious she had a rather infectious personality as Nanao found herself smiling some as well at the younger kunoichi’s achievement. She was beginning to loosen up, but she knew that she still had to maintain her professional demeanor as the exams continued. “Next up… Akira, please come forward.” The blonde kid made his way to the front and pretty obviously was bored out of his mind if the look on his face was anything to go by. He hit three out of the five with his pass or fail coming literally down to the last shuriken. But, he got lucky and managed to pull a pass out of thin air.

Next was the playful red haired girl who had displayed unique skill with the basic ninjutsu, “Sumiyuri Chinoike, Please come forward.” The red haired kunoichi to be made her way nervously to the front and literally threw all five shuriken at once with her eyes closed, it seemed that she left her passing or failing up to pure chance. It just so happened that the fates’ smiled upon her as she landed three out of five and passed. Once she returned to the area, Nanao would call out the rest of the names before coming to the final test taker, “Shojin Kagemori, Please come forward.” She had no idea what to expect as the red haired boy made his way to the front where he would position himself right in front of the target. He had been encouraging the other students very much so over the course of the exam, so it was pretty clear that not only was he a friendly person, but from his performance he was also a skilled shinobi, he just… had some unique personality quirks. As he threw the shuriken, they all hit their marks in rapid succession. He was on target to pass with flying colors, it all depended on the final part now.

Graduation Exams! [EVENT] Writte10

Once all the students had finished the shurikenjutsu phase of the exam it was time to move to the final part, a written test. This wasn’t really much of a written test as it was a single, short response scenario that would determine how the genin thought. It was hard to fail this particular portion, but that didn’t make it impossible. “Alright, if everyone would follow me back to the classroom to begin the final portion of the exams.” Assuming they did as they were told, they would return to the classroom where they would find a sealed envelope waiting in each of their assigned area. She would begin explaining the final portion before the students could move to open them, “Alright, before you open the folders I will give you the rules of this final portion of the exams. This is a single scenario that warrants a single short answer. If you answer this question wrong, it means that you fail this part of the exam. Now, I know what you may have heard, ‘Pass two of the three and you pass!’ well, that’s wrong. This year, the written exam counts twice as much, meaning if you fail this part, you will NOT become genin today.” Letting that sink in she would allow a smirk to appear on her face, “alright then, begin!"

When they opened their folders they would see the following scenario:

Exam Scenario:

This part of the exam would surely weed out those who should and shouldn't be shinobi.

PostSubject: Re: Graduation Exams! [EVENT]   Graduation Exams! [EVENT] EmptyFri Apr 29, 2022 12:08 pm

By this point, Shojin felt on top of the world.  He had performed all three of the prescribed jutsu seamlessly, and was one of the very few who had even passed the Shurikenjutsu portion, let alone nail the target with all five of his weapons.  Of course, he thought, if they told me to cast a Genjutsu or something I would have failed this portion.  So I can't get too excited... but...  but that didn't stop him.  He leapt into the air, pumping his fists.  "YEEEEAAAAH BABYYYYY!!!"  Then, he took a few moments, regained his composure, and followed the rest of the examinees to the next phase.

It struck Shojin as odd that they had previously hidden the pass criteria from all of the potential ninja.  Why would they tell them to practice the jutsu, and then give them the Shurikenjutsu exam, when it really didn't matter?  It was, essentially, pass one of those, and then pass the written portion.  Either way, if you failed that portion, you failed, right?  Even if you passed the other two.  That left a lump in his throat.  Still, he took his seat, ready to do his best in what might be his worst area.

He read the question, and his throat clenched tighter.  Of course, he knew what he would do, but... that probably wasn't the correct answer.  Still, he did not know what else to write, and he figured his answer was better than no answer.  So, he started scribbling away.

Spoiler:

Shojin would stand and submit his response, positively about to pee his pants.  He knew that was not the answer they were looking for, and only hoped that it wasn't about the answer.  Or that they were just impressed by his decisiveness.  Or... something.

Kosuke was pleased with his success in the first two parts of the exam. He was actually pretty relieved he had performed so well and managed to gain what he was told was a passing score. This helped to settle his mind some as even if he failed to understand the written portion he was still granted a pass to Genin. He smiled to himself as Shojin finished up the second portion and shouted out in joy. His friend was truly a unique individual, that much was obvious. As the group of them made their way back into the classroom and the teacher began to explain the final part of the exams though, his heart dropped, he HAD to get this right or he wouldn’t be made a Genin? That was harsh. Once he was given the go ahead, he would open the folder and pull out the question and a pen. This filled his head with a few thoughts, but he just started writing, hoping that the thoughts would come to him as he did.

Spoiler:

While he sat and worried over his answer, he noticed Shojin confidently walk up and provide his answer, he was pretty amazed at how skilled and smart his friend had proven himself in these exams. He hoped that if they both passed they’d be on the same team so that he could have someone to count on. Swallowing the lump in his throat, he would shakily stand and submit his own paper, glad that it was over with but worried as to the results.

Akira was satisfied with his performance thus far, he had exceeded what most of the others taking this exam had done and managed, to his knowledge, to pass thus far. He wasn’t overly concerned with the final portion as he was confident in his critical thinking abilities to believe that he would be able to pass the test that was given. However, he wouldn’t waste his time thinking about those things now. As the final examinee threw his blades, Akira took the time to think about the ones he had seen throw thus far. The First kid was mediocre at best, then the Uchiha girl was only slightly better in his opinion as she at least had her family name to fall back on. The red haired girl didn’t seem to be all that bright, but she seemed to at least be lucky and have a clan to fall back on. Finally, there was the clown who threw his shuriken last. Shokin or something like that? Either way, he seemed to be more of a buffoon than a ninja. He shook his head as they were called to move back to the classroom to begin their final part.

The revelation that the other two parts were less important than this one didn’t seem to have any outward effect on Akira, but inside he was slightly miffed. He had just wasted his time with those other two parts if this one was the most important, but that didn’t matter. At the moment the only thing of importance was passing this little question and getting his promotion to genin. As they were told to check the question and answer it, in the way that would be expected of any Suna Shinobi.

Spoiler:

Once he had answered, he would stand and make his way to the front to turn in his paper before returning to his seat. He was unimpressed with the leaf thus far, he wondered exactly why their shinobi were so weird and eccentric.

Hisomu was still thrilled that she had hit four of the five shuriken, but the worst had still to come as the gang returned to the classroom – for it was here that Hisomu would hear the most horrifying part of the exams that she’d ever encounter! Or not, it wasn’t that bad – but Hisomu did fake a scared expression from the sheer weight this exam had. Hisomu was an outgoing person that wanted to show her feelings outwards through actions instead of words. Dismissively waving at the air afterwards after exhaling through her nose, proper confident in her abilities.

There was the scenario. Having unfolded the paper with the question before her, Hisomu raised her pen and began chewing on it as she raised her eyebrow in an inquisitive manner. She was proper humming to herself before lowering the pen and spinning it between her fingers. If Hisomu had some jutsu for this pen, she’d probably be using it as a propellant with how she was spinning it – and with such speed. Besides that, Hisomu would eventually tap her pen against the paper.

Tap.

Tap.

Tap.

Tap – Tap – Tap – Tap. Then, she’d write her harrowing answer before rubbing her chin deep-in-thought. Hisomu thought to herself that the scenario was rather. . . bland? It was to see what you prioritized. Was it the mission? Your teammate? Was it a mix of both? Should she just stab her unconscious sensei and the contractor due them being a liability? Indeed – Hisomu was going to choose the second-worst option at hand.

Spoiler:

Hisomu pushed her chair backwards, proper grinding the legs of the chair against the floor before standing up. Her answer was covered and with sure steps filled with swagger - Hisomu turned to the desk, placed her paper, winked at the examinee and left in a jolly fashion.

Sumiyuri heard the words the proctor just said. She started thinking and the answer was very obvious. She was always taught it by her parents and thought everyone around her shared a similar opinion. She wondered what everyone would choose. Before giving her answer, she looked up, and felt her heart slowly increasing in pace. This is what they teach in the hidden leaf is it not? She started to question her answer.

Spoiler:

If she failed, it was okay. At least she showed the purity in her heart. Sumi knew that her parents would be proud of her decision and knew that people would choose the other option as well. Some people only abide by the rules so they would also be correct. She finished her written portion and looked around waiting for the end.

Graduation Exams! [EVENT] Giphy

"Not the End of a Journey, but the Beginning..."

As the final paper was turned in, Nanao would finish reading the responses given. While it was true the purpose of this portion of the exams was to make them second guess themselves and potentially just give an answer that they wanted to hear, it was also crucial that they be able to make a decision and stand by it in the heat of a mission. As she finished reading the final response, she came to the conclusion that each of them had given a satisfactory answer. She then began compiling their scores, each of them had performed well enough, but it was down to the wire to determine their class rankings. As each of them passed all three portions it would truly come down to the specific scores they each got in the three parts. For the ninjutsu part, they all received a GO score, as that was simply pass or fail. The main component for separation was the Shurikenjutsu test. This pulled them apart slightly, with Shojin and Kosuke being the only two that landed all five shuriken in the threshold. Then it came down to the written portion which was a bit harder to grade.

But, after looking through their tests she had decided that all of them passed so she would go post their results on the board and would pass out the appropriate headbands to each student. “Congratulations to all of you! You performed admirably and proved yourselves worthy of the title Shinobi! This is but the beginning of your journeys so I wish you all luck moving forward! Team selection will be done by your respective Kage and will be sent to you in a few days to allow you time to travel back to your homes. Konoha ninja should know their teams in a couple of days as well! Again, congratulations!” With that, her part was done and she left them to do as they pleased, they all would most likely be collected soon by their respective academy instructors to take them out to dinner or to celebrate before resting up to leave the village the following day.

RESULTS:

Shojin Kagemori; Rookie of the Year:

Kosuke; Proved Himself:

Akira; Lone Wolf:

Hisomu Uchiha; Confidence Queen:

Sumiyuri Chinoike; Whimsically Minded:

Shojin positively beamed as the green lady gave him news that he had passed. Though he didn't care about his class ranking, he absolutely cared about being a Ninja. He snatched a Leaf headband and ran home to his parents.

Alright - Hisomu had just been approved Genin. With everything settled, and Hisomu freaking successful like the confident fellow she was, she'd leave the clan in a cheerful manner as she rubbed her hands together. Chuunin, here she comes!

With that, Hisomu would take her leave as she waved at the other students in a rather odd manner with large waves and cheerful sounds. She was on-top of the world, at with this under her belt, she was going to conquer the next obstacle! With her Sharingan in sight, as the next goal, Hisomu was determined to ensure that nothing would stop her - and boy, all the genjutsu she'd come to use!
