Another faithful day in Kumogakure, and a faithful day where employment had been called out for by the officials within the village. It was a rather mundane mission that had been put up for availability by a businessman, and such a task was appropriate for some genin. Specifically, it was someone that had managed to piss off the wrong people – and whilst the businessman initially did not have a problem pissing off such people, it became an issue when he scouted people outside of his home.
Now, there was an alternative that wouldn’t tank his entire savings, and that was escaping the country and settling elsewhere till the heat turned down. It was his momentary plan, and such a plan was in the works now – and this businessman now stood in the building where teams were assigned to the available missions.

It was a large oval room, this one, and the businessman patiently waited outside in a secure room whilst the genin were selected for him. In this scenario, the genin that had been hand-picked for this mediocre mission of value, was Rizan and Hisomu – two that should presumably handle this mission with ease if anything. They were presumably geared and had the tools available to handle mere commonfolk – hopefully.

A message had been sent out to the two youngsters and their presence had been requested for the mission at hand. It was all about arriving there now. Hisomu in this instance, was alerted first thing in the morning due to one member of her family working a mundane rank there, and fortunately for her she was picked out and alerted early. She’d be in her fly equipment and fitted with her weaponry – prepared to tackle the mission at hand.

Hisomu ran through the village till she reached the building and was stopped by a higher ranking chuunin who was just here to check identification before leading her to the hall just before the mission delegation. It was all about waiting for the comrade in arms that had been assigned with her before they could enter the room!

Mission:

Rizan woke with a yawn and a stretch before crawling out of his bed with a sleepy look in his eyes. He looked over to the window to see thin rays of light streaking across his small one room apartment. Tossing the sheet back over the bed, he would move to begin heating a pot to boil some water for his breakfast, which would consist of some form of instant food or another. As he waited for his breakfast to cook, he was interrupted by three short rasps on his door handle. “Genin Rizan is to report to the mission hall for assignment. Report Immediately.” With that, he could tell the other person had left the area and he was now running late according to all things he had ever learned in the academy. Immediately meant, in that instant. He only hoped that whoever was assigning the missions wasn’t one of the ninja who disliked him for whatever reason. He wasn’t particularly liked, and as such he never was given much in options of missions and the like. As such, arriving to meet not only another teammate for the mission, but also to find a C-ranked mission waiting for him. He was pretty nervous though as he had never even gone on more than a handful of D-ranked missions at this point, but had been tagged for a C-rank? This would be troublesome indeed. Turning to his teammate, a female of dark hair and eyes he would bow courteously, “Hello, I am Rizan. I look forward to working with you.” He would speak pretty formally, still not used to talking to many people his own age and still fearful that she would hate him for no reason like so many others in his past.

Hisomu was within her own little world as she bopped her head to the left and then right in a repeating manner as she waited on her assigned partner to arrive. It was a bit of a shame he wasn’t just here yet – but she was late every now and then as well. It wasn’t anything dire, for the client at hand did not quite have anywhere else to go nor the money to buy someone else of higher rank to step in and do the task at hand. For Hisomu, this mission was not something that stood out to her in danger just yet – she was an Uchiha with powerful genjutsu in her skillset, and whilst she was lacking in other things – it was fine. All Hisomu required was to look at them and then knock them out with her skills.

Then, she’d hear the arrival of the one that had been missing – it was her partner, and she’d look up at him and perk an eyebrow as he courteously bowed before her. Her expression turned into something of a cringy one, and it took her a moment to process who this fellow was. Huh. Wonder how he’d react to a bit of nightmare, but that was besides the point. His formality seemingly rubbed her off wrongly though.
"Yeah, sure? I ain't some kind of senior, no need to act formally with me and that crap. What're your skills anyway?" Hisomu inquired through her regressing expression of cringe as the door opened before them - for them to be let inside and be handed the mission. Inside of there, the business fellow they were to escort was already waiting for them. There was the Jounin as well to hand out the mission, but that was done with a throw of the scroll that had the details. Details which were essentially 'escort this fellow to the land of fire'.

Whoever grabbed the flung scroll could read it, but their mission was now given and admitted for proceeding. The Business man respectfully nodded to the Jounin, and raised his hood to minimize the chance of being detected. He was already going undercover by the looks of it. "Besides that, ever done something like that before? 'Rizan'? Escorted someone yet or fought against someone to the death?"

Rizan took a slight step back at the look he got from the girl who was supposed to be his partner. Had he said something wrong? Missed some social cue that had been put in place? Listening to her, he would simply nod. What else could he do or say? Upon hearing her question, he would answer quickly, “W-well, I have done some training with lightning style ninjutsu…” That was about the extent of what he had done in his time training, so he would need to work on improving himself and learning more things to be more useful in the future if he wanted to be a successful ninja. Upon being admitted into the room and receiving their scroll, he had to admit he was nervous. Not only about taking on this higher level mission, but also working with someone who seemed to not like him for one reason or another. Upon hearing her speak again, he would flinch slightly before responding. “Well… N-no.. I’ve never taken on a mission like this before… B-but I promise not to hold you back!” He finished with a determined look in his eye before awaiting further instructions. “I suppose you will be leading this mission? Since I guess you’ve been on more of this kind of mission than I have… I’ve never left the village, much less the Land of Lightning…” He was now nervous for a couple of other reasons too. Joy.

He would simply follow Hisomu wherever she decided to lead him, keeping quiet unless spoken to by the business man or hisomu herself. The businessman seemed to be wanting to maintain some form of cover though, so he didn’t expect to get much out of him, so as to preserve his secrecy and prevent others from learning anything from looking on.

Sweet! It was someone capable of using genuine physical jutsu compared to Hisomu. Yeah – that was something she had to work on in the future since she wasn’t capable of hindering others through mental jutsu in any way what-soever other than cease movement for a brief period. Shrugging to herself, she’d glance at Rizan for a couple of long seconds as he stuttered and explained himself like the silly goose he was.

His determined look did cause her to slightly cringe into a snort however, simply due to such cliché reactions from numerous partners surprising her less and less each time. Now, there was the subject of who was meant to lead the mission – sure, put it in the hands of the barely teenager. Hisomu shrugged at him before walking towards the exit of the room and waving at the target they were meant to guard.

It could’ve been smooth, but now she held the door open and remained silent as she glanced in response to Rizan. Maybe it would be funnier if she simply let him ponder as to why she was silent after his little mouthful of phrases. He hadn’t been outside the village, but she had – and she had seen the foul creatures that lingered outside.

Eh, what’s the worst that could happen? Hisomu thought to herself as she led the duo behind her towards the gates, flicked the scrolled assignment to the passage guards and secured their passage through. Despite being on a mission, they were still in need of a reasonable reason to leave their village behind. Besides – they were presumably going to face some bad people on their way out there, so why not ensure back-up was sent to at least recover their corpses?

Grim. Yeah, that was a grim thought. Hisomu shook her head in silence as she activated her Sharingan due to the distance slowly being gained from the village to the exterior. If anyone was going to ambush them – then she was going to see them.
"I specialize in Genjutsu, just so you know - one look, and I'll disarm whoever we encounter. Just be sure to strike them or something stupid like that, okay? Don't get yourself killed and bla-bla-bla-bla." Hisomu stated as she formed a blabbering mouth with her right hand as she looked in his direction.

It would take a long period of time before anything happened - and that would be a few bushes shaking here and there. It would eventual mean that a squad of five would jump out of them - a squad of barely armored highway-men who wanted the target's money for selling them faulty soap and toothbrushes. However, it would take a long time before this happened.

"Just a tip if you ever encounter any from the other villages. Do not give them a chance or a glance of pity. They'll take it right off your hand and shiv you. Subject of stabbing, see this scar on my cheek?" Hisomu casually chattered as she pointed to her left cheek with a large scar running across it.

There wasn't much going on apart from a lizard ruffling about on the rocky environment.

As the small group left the village, Rizan was wide eyed and kept his head swiveling all around them as they walked along the path that put the village farther and farther behind them. He might have looked like he was on high alert, when in reality he was just enjoying the view all around the scenery. The mountains and forests were something he had only been able to see from the buildings in the area, never this close up. He also idly listened to Hisomy talk, but she sounded kindof paranoid in his opinion, though the scar on her cheek gave him pause in those thoughts. Wow, not only had she been in contact with foreign ninja, but had been attacked by them and lived to tell the tale. His respect level for the Uchiha grew significantly at that point, he also took note of her sharingan being active. It gave her a very dangerous look, he was glad they were on the same team. It was after a few jump scares by some of the local wildlife that finally something real happened. Several kunai flew out from some bushes on either side of them, landing in front of them to stop them in their tracks.

At that moment, five shadows burst from the bushes, three landing in front and two behind. They looked like normal highwaymen, so Rizan wasn’t too afraid, but he was much more on guard than he had been before thanks to Hisomu’s little warning. Tensing up slightly, the main bandit would speak from in front of their group, “Alright, that guy owes us some money! So just hand it over and we’ll let you leave. You kids look young, like you just graduated from the academy. So don’t make us cut your careers short!” He also noticed Hisomu’s active sharingan, turning to whisper to a bandit next to him, “Try to nab that girl too, I hear you get good money for a sharingan these days!” With that, the four highwaymen would lunge inwards to attack the group with the bandit leader keeping his distance with his arms crossed and a smug look on his face. Rizan was doing all he could to keep the two bandits on his side from getting to their client, but he was managing, somehow. He had a couple cuts and bruises from their attacks to get to the client, but he was holding them back all the same. He only hoped Hisomu was able to handle the others by herself or that he could get a moment to use a ninjutsu.
