Notable Information
Government Type: Dictatorship. In Sunagakure, the Kazekage is in absolute control of both law and military. Sunagakure residents do not see this as a bad thing, however; Asuka Jishaku has a high approval rate, and most believe in her experience.

Notable Dissent and Drama: Sunagakure is one of the most poor villages in the known Shinobi world. Having suffered the greatest losses in the Shinobi World War, Sunagakure never found profit in war as most of the other villages did. Their isolationist policy did not help either, as other villages weren't quite able to help out. As a result, there is more poverty per capita in Sunagakure than any other village, and the government is regularly running relief programs.
Village Relationships
Sunagakure does not have a powerful enough economy to form strong trade ties with any village in particular. The only reason they trade well with Kumogakure is because Kumogakure is a powerhouse of a trade hub, and brings so much to the table that it does not actually require much on part of Sunagakure. On the other hand, Suna has not made strong attempts to form military or political alliances with other villages either, save Konoha; a much more powerful village that essentially gave Sunagakure no choice.
Brief Village History
Sunagakure was founded by Asuka Jishaku who is fabled to have been alive during the time of the Sage of Six Paths. She supposedly learned her unique magnet release from the One-Tails. She was the representative selected to be the Shodai Kazekage at the Five Kage Summit, and while she was the only female, she was the first to agree to the peace proposed by the Hokage. This started an alliance and amicable relationship between the Sand and the Leaf that continues until this day. During the first Shinobi World War started by Tenji Uchiha, Asuka worked in conjunction with Gonju Senju as an allied force against Iwa and Kumo. After the war, Suna had suffered heavy casualties and adopted an isolationist policy afterwards that kept them separated from the rest of the world in the following years.
