Shojin Develop Fite Style As Hard Man 2 Hit (Flashback)

NINE MONTHS AGO

Shojin sat perched on a tree, stalking his target. As soon as there was an opening, he was prepared to pounce; he would completely subdue his target in one motion, such that they were entirely incapable of fighting back. The housecat he was supposed to capture and return to its owner let out a small meow. Suddenly, Shojin heard the rustle of a leaf behind himself. Without thinking, he flattened his body against the branch he was perched on, lying completely flat as a mass of something or other hurtled over his head, missing so narrowly that whatever it was still brushed some of the hair on his head.

Once the strange mass passed, Shojin was able to look over to see none other than Jun-Sensei. She stood on the ground, now holding the cat he was supposed to have captured. She called out to him, a grin on her face. "Wow! That was supposed to be a teaching moment on taking an unexpected attack when you think you're hidden, but clearly it wasn't unexpected! Good work." A grin spread across Shojin's face; it was rare that Jun-Sensei ever bothered complimenting him, and even more rare that it wasn't hidden in some obscure taunt and meant to not sound like a compliment.

"I'm not that easy to hit, or sneak up on don't'cha know!" He joked back, just in time to see Jun-Sensei's smile turn to a frown, and feel something ram into his face. Somehow, it was her fist; he hadn't even been able to track her movements!"

SIX MONTHS AGO

Wild, how Shojin managed to always find himself in these situations. Here he was, supposed to be working with an entire group of Genin to guard a trading caravan, and somehow, they all managed to be somewhere other than here at this moment. A sixth sense told him to duck. As he did, he witnessed a fist passing over his head, plowing into the man in front of him. Shojin was smack dab in the middle of a group of bandits attempting to raid the caravan he was protecting. A pivot on his right foot carried him out of the way of a kick from the same assaulting bandit, and he caught the blow midair. He'd pivot again, one of his feet behind that of his attacker and slam his attacker from the ground.

No time to do anything else, Shojin somersaulted forward over the now-unconscious body of the man he'd just downed. A number of kunai and other projectiles passed over his head when he did so. Immediately he rose to his feet in time to slip to his right, as the bandit he was now face-to-face with threw a punch. Shojin caught the fist and, rotating, smashed the elbow of his attacker in with his own elbow, breaking the arm. He kept hold of that same arm and completed that rotation such that his back was now to this bandit. As he did so, he saw another preparing to throw a ton of thrown weapons at him as well. He'd grip the arm he was holding in his own and flip this attacker over his shoulder, crouching behind the body as it was impaled by multiple kunai and shuriken. A body flicker technique would then carry him to the final bandit, where a strike to the back of his head would leave the man unconscious at Shojin's feet. Finally, the rest of the team would arrive, and as Shojin began poking fun at them, they'd all work together to help Shojin put the unconscious bandits in restraints, as well as gather the body of the dead one.

THREE MONTHS AGO

He watched as the woman tied to the chair screamed. His heart twisted itself in knots, begging him to lunge forward and come to her rescue. However, it was against his orders; Shojin was not to attack until he found both his target and the accomplice. Making his move any sooner than locating both of these individuals would constitute direct disobedience of his orders and doing so could result in his imprisonment, or being removed from Konohagakure's Ninja force, or something worse.

It didn't matter; the moment Shojin saw the hammer aimed at the woman's kneecap, his body carried him forward without applying a single thought. Rage and violence drove Shojin's blade into the back of his target, almost without his own volition; in that moment, it was made clear to him why he was not supposed to attack. It was nothing more than a metallic ssssshhhheeeeeeeennn, but it was enough for him to determine what was happening. He whirled around, Bladegnasher withdrawn from the body of the man he'd just attacked, parrying the blade coming his way. The blood still on the blade from his first victim splattered across his face.

LAST WEEK

It was something of a rather extreme sparring session. Some of the veteran Jounin wanted to know who was the most capable of the recent Special Jounin in the village, and it had been awhile since Shojin had done any sparring or fighting. Because of this fact, he had agreed to participate in the six way battle royal that was these odd Jounin's idea of training. His mind focused as he found himself on the receiving end of more than one attack, and his smirk vanished, replaced with an odd calm.

To his right was a melee attacker holding a hatchet, and from above, a Water Dragon was forming. No thoughts; a Body Flicker Technique carried him directly behind the man with the hatchet, and he offered a front kick directly to this man's back. Because of the forward momentum he'd already created for himself, he wasn't able to regain his balance in time to protect himself from the massive Water Dragon barreling down on him. Shojin didn't have time to witness this, however; for he whipped around, and, before even noticing what he'd done, hurled seven shuriken to collide with seven more in the air which had been aimed at him.
