Iwa Village History

The village of Iwagakure was founded jointly by an aging Indra Uchiha and Jin Chinoike, the leaders of the Uchiha and Chinoike clans respectively. The village started off relatively small before they turned a mountain range into their village, hidden among the towering spires and within the caves of the mountain range. Indra was named the first Tsuchikage, a title which was passed down to his eldest son, Tenji Uchiha. Tenji was the Tsuchikage’s guard during the first Five Kage Summit. He learned many things, primarily that the current world leaders were weak in his worldview. He felt that the world was moving to an era of weakness and stagnation if their plans for peace were to be successful. He also held a grudge against the Senju clan, due to their proposal of the peace treaty. Once he took the mantle of Nidaime Tsuchikage, he, along with the Raikage, started a war campaign against Konoha and Suna, which eventually led to a stalemate with Tenji’s death. He was replaced by Ichiyo Baku as the Sandaime Tsuchikage. Ichiyo is a kind, wise old man who wasn’t a fan of Tenji’s warmongering, and once he became Tsukikage he led Iwa into an era of peace.
