How Many Genin Does It Take To Catch A Rat? [Private | Tatsuo]

A couple days had passed since Talic and Tatsuo officially became sand genin. It took a little bit of time for the papers to be processed and a team still hasn't been officially formed. They however finally got clearance to take on their first mission together! It's nothing to serious and would be rather difficult for trained ninjas to mess up. Their goal is to catch a rat! The rodent had been tearing into the local food stores for the restaurants on the main strip of the village. However the rats have proven difficult to catch by showing use of academy jutsu for evasion!

Talic having woke up early to prepare for the day would be bounding with energy as he fastens his new headband through his belt; can't have it getting in the way after all. As Talic would leave the manor he begins reminiscing on everything that has happened over the last month or so. Eventually he comes back to on the stretch that he was supposed to meet Tatsuo at.   "Tatsuo would probably show up at the time mentioned...I'll just get a couple things ready first..."

Talic would wonder around the stretch of buildings trying to find anything of use. "It's still a little to early to find much...gonna have to wait for the sun to rise some more." Feeling slightly disappointed he would head back to the front of the restaurant and await the arrival of the owner and his teammate. He can't really break in to hunt rodents...it would only cause more trouble.

Tatsuo had spent the last couple of days sort of...shirking the conversation of teammates around his parents. Thankfully, they were more than happy to talk about him becoming a ninja and actually managing to overcome his difficulties from the previous year. Tatsuo would even wear some decent clothing, instead of his normal baggy clothing. He'd wear some a reasonably nice white dress-shirt with decent pants. After all, they were going to a restaurant  for this mission and it'll be harder.

Tatsuo would arrive nearby, headband around his neck, to where he was supposed to meet Talic. It wasn't hard to find the kid, his bright red hair would make him stand out anywhere. Much less in the desert of Sunagakure. Of course, Tatsuo was excited to inform Talic of his finding of an off button.

Upon arriving, Tatsuo would simply be smiling and speak shortly, "I have an experiment. I've found the off button for my senses, and I want to see if I can't find the rat without it. After all, this mission would be far too easy otherwise. Might as well work on our teamwork, right?"

Tatsuo was talking more than average, but he was genuinely excited at the concept of turning off his senses and just using the ones normal people had. That was something truly exciting to him. Take that as you will.

Talic would smile as Tatsuo appeared. However, oddly enough it seemed that Tatsuo was the excitable one today he talked more in this short encounter than most of the times Talic had been around him. As to respond to him Talic would nod.  "So...you found a way to dull your senses? That would mean you are around normal now aren't you?" Talic would stop as the Owner would appear walking down the road towards them. He seems tired and clearly worried.

In a desperate tone "Are you the two sent to help with the rodent problem? The assistant assured me it would get taken care. Spoke very highly of you two." The man would continue rambling on before opening the door to the restaurant and leading them back towards the store rooms. It had been a large warehouse like corridor with shelves and drying racks lining the walls, and plenty of crates and various other means of storing food on the ground.

The man would take his leave as he shuts the storage door leaving the two in the room together. Talic finally being able to talk to Tatsuo once more. "You said you wanted to do this without your sensory overload then right? I guess get your off switch ready and lets start looking for clues then!" Talic would hold a wild grin as he would turn away from Tatsuo and work his way to a crate that had been pushed off the wall slightly.

Tatsuo would nod, and then take a moment as the shop owner would come tired and all out of sorts to do what he needed to do. Specifically going to suppress his chakra, it'd take Tatsuo a minute while they went inside to fully do so. But to say he felt a considerable amount of relief even just this moment would be a vast understatement.

Once Tatsuo would arrive inside, he'd make a look around and just sort of...look around and smell around. It was nice not hearing everything within a city block. It was nice not *smelling* everything in a city block. That was the worst part. While Tatsuo's nose may be used to the smell of sweat, it did not mean that Tatsuo *liked* the smell of sweat. Though, Tatsuo no longer had to just imagine what it was like. He could know what it was like.

Tatsuo realized a good few things in roughly the same amount of seconds, but didn't bother to think about it too much. Tatsuo would move the opposite direction, and start looking through some of the shelves to see if he couldn't find the rodent. Desert rodents were always a pain, considering they evolved to last in the heat. How are you supposed to outwait a rodent made for heat? It simply wasn't fair!

Tatsuo would stay mostly silent though, seemingly afraid that even speaking would break his blissful peace. It wouldn't, of course. But one couldn't be too careful. Peace does not come easily bought, especially not from the wonderful world called genetics. Tatsuo couldn't complain all that much though. It is allowing him to make friends in high places while affording him quite a few opportunities despite the original hardships.

Tatsuo would notably be...less reative? To any sound nearby then he normally was. Not to say he was very reactive in the first place, but any skittering on the shelves and near the boxes was likely to be completely ignored. For now, anyway.

Shifting around a handful of boxes Talic would finally have a clear path to move from the entrance of the room to the back corner. It is at this point he is able to begin hearing various store fronts begin to come to life as the early morning patrons would start making their rounds. Talic knows that they shouldn't be interrupted but he can't help but worry about civilians getting in the way...or worse letting the rat escape.

He would begin going down the walk way inspecting various boxes and foods for rodent damage or just signs that it had been present...anything could make this easier. Well except his jutsu...he would ruin all the food and that would cause more issues than he cares to deal with.

Eventually Talic would find marks along the side of a shelf leading towards the back corner with a rather large stack of boxes in the way. Under his breath Talic would mumble some choice words as he begins moving, shifting, and shimmying his was through. His efforts wouldn't be in vain for as soon as he got to the other side he would see a decently sized hole in the wall showing where the rodents had been coming and going as they pleased, and unfortunately for them it needed to be stopped.

 Well he had found where it was coming in...now it was just a matter of finding the actual problem the one eating all the stored food. Talic would make his way back down the walk way to the original door and then towards Tatsuo to see if he had found anything of value. "Found it's way in...don't suppose you found it yet have you?" Talic would look towards Tatsuo as he awaited an answer

To be frankly honest, Tatsuo was very much enjoying his freedoom from the big noise and overall stressful time. However, He didn't feel good that Talic was doing most of the heavy lifting when he could've just found them from the start and been done with this like...three minutes ago. Not to mention, Talic had even found the whole where they go in and out. Now, Tatsuo had no reason to keep all of his senses off like he was doing originally.

Tatsuo would turn his senses back on, and hear exactly where the rodents were. Not that he could do anything about it, but with the hole combined with the exact sound location it made actually finding them a lot easier.

"I think they're right..." He'd point over behind a box that neither of them had looked upon."Over there." He'd heard the rodents going on over there; much quieter than otherwise could've been heard. After all, he could hear and differentiate multiple different conversations. Overhearing some rodents is hardly the wildest feat that Tatsuo had.

Not only that, but Tatsuo was super confident purely because sensing and hearing and smelling things was his specialty. Tatsuo would just wait for Talic to do the hard part of the mission; actually wrangling these rodent fellas. It was not something Tatsuo wanted to do; but realistically would if required.

Once Tatsuo would point the way to the rodents Talic would come up with a quick plan. Since they would try and escape once spotted he would simply make a trap out of their exit. Talic would walk over to their escape route and make a small box using sand manipulation so that he could close and trap them once inside.

After setting the trap up Talic would make his was back up towards Tatsuo and then over towards the box neither of them had checked before. Upon getting closer three rats would scatter out from behind it and bolt towards their exit. Talic would make it seem like h is chasing them in order to catch them getting close on occasion only to be out maneuvered with various body replacements.

Talic acting frustrated would cause the rats to snicker at him as they ran face first into a sand wall. Then furthering their situation Talic would then finish the box locking them inside. Sure rats can dig and chew but they aren't much of a match for chakra enforced walls.

Talic would move towards Tatsuo as to decide their next move. "Well the mission is completed with them captured...I suppose now is the question of what do we do with them?" Talic would lead Tatsuo around to the side of the building so they could retrieve the box of rodents. "They aren't dumb...however they are causing a good deal of harm to the restaurant." Talic would wait for Tatsuo's imput before getting the owner to let him know of the completion of the mission.

Tatsuo would simply watch as Talic did his thing with an impressive amount of efficiency. Now, the bigger issue was that the rats didn't anticipate the sand wall. Now, to be fair, no one expects the sand wall. Then, they got boxed up and it was an easy enough thing to carry for Talic.

Tatsuo would follow Talic as he'd talk, noting that Talic was probably the brains of any operation. Not that Tatsuo minded. Tatsuo was lazy enough in this partnership that he'd just feed Talic the information instead of anything else. Tatsuo really couldn't be bothered to do much more, considering that it was a real simple job. But still. It was just the matter that both of them served their purpose and neither was made particularly useless. It was a wonderful feeling, really.

Upon arriving to pick up the box, Tatsuo would speak after Talic would pick the box of rodents up.

"Just wait until the guy gets here and let him decide. After all, he's the bossman. If he wants us to dispose of them properly, I'm sure you know how to do that."

Tatsuo had a very simple plan, and that was to sit and wait like he always did. Just for once, it was actually applicable instead of him just sitting there like a dumbass.

Upon hearing what Tatsuo had to say he would agree. After all he shouldn't have to figure out where to send them...he was only needed to catch them. Upon this decision the duo would then head to the front of the restaurant to retrieve the owner.

As he comes over he would take the "box" from Talic and smile. "Ah thank you so much boys I knew I could count on you." He would dumb the rats into a bucket as the box began to crumble away. "Ah-uh leave these three to me...you two can go along adnd report your success to secretary." Just like that he would dip into the back of the shop bucket in hand.

Talic taking a step away from the door and moving to the side would then look towards Tatsuo. "Well...our first mission! I think everything went pretty well? To make it even better we didn't take that much time at all." Talic would then begin to walk towards the Kage tower.

"We are probably going to end up doing a lot of this aren't we?" At that Talic would form a nimbus under his feet and reached his hand out to Tatsuo. "There are going to be plenty more where this came from."

Tatsuo would watch the two talk, and just sorta wait until the mission was officially done before he saw he was getting an official offer of Nimbus Riding from Talic himself.

Tatsuo would shake his head, letting out a deep sigh.

"I have some personal business to attend to; you can report everything to the appropriate parties." Tatsuo would say, now talking in the other direction back to his home.
